Upright Citizens Brigade has deal with NBC
The Upright Citizen's Brigade may be making a return to television. Unfortunately it probably
won't be more of their superb sketch comedy which graced the airwaves on Comedy Central a few years back, but the
prospect of The UCB being involved with anything on TV still excites me.
NBC has a first look deal with the comedy troupe (which includes SNL'er Amy Poehler) and the deal gives NBC access to everyone involved with the UCB. Even those training at both UCB theatres in LA and NYC. One name did jump out of this article though. Rob Riggle (he was featured on SNL last year... remember Dr. Porkenheimer's Boner Juice?) regularly performs at the UCB theatre in New York and NBC has a deal specifically with him. I think I might like to see that guy in a sitcom.
Plus, as much as I hate to say it, maybe if something comes of this... then it'll get rid of Amy on Weekend Update. At first I liked her in that role, but enough is enough.
