Time for 'The Waltons' fans to dust off those overalls: The kids are back! Tonight, all seven 'Waltons' children are expected to turn out for the 40th anniversary of the TV movie that started it all.

Jon Walmsley -- a.k.a. Jason Walton -- told NJ.com that tonight's screening of 'The Homecoming' in Jersey City, New Jersey marks their first complete reunion in 30 years.

Ahead of tonight's screening the cast members appeared on 'Today' and shared their memories of being on the show. Watch them talking to Matt Lauer after the jump. (Elizabeth looks exactly the same!)

Peggy Rea, an actress who starred in 'The Waltons' and 'Dukes of Hazzard,' died Saturday at the age of 89.

According to The New York Times, Rea died of heart failure in her home in Toluca Lake, Calif.

Rea was a fixture on television in the late 1970s and early 1980s, playing Olivia Walton's cousin Rose on 'The Waltons' and Boss Hoggs' wife Lulu on 'The Dukes of Hazzard.' The actress also appeared on 'All in the Family,' 'The Golden Girls' and 'Step by Step.'

Her last TV role was as Jean Kelly, the feisty mother-in-law to Brett Butler's titular character on the sitcom 'Grace Under Fire.'

Don't you just love it when life sort of imitates art?

Jon Hamm, who plays the chain smoking Don Draper on TV's 'Mad Men,' has been hired by Mercedes Benz as a pitchman for their car commercials, which will premiere during the Academy Awards.

This means, of course, that Mr. Hamm will replace actor Richard Thomas who has done the voiceover for Mercedes' car commercials for the last four years. Good night Jon-Boy.

The company's marketing VP Stephen Cannon called Hamm "a hot actor." That must have been one awkward audition.

I guess this is a good week to find out what type of TV fan you are. Are you going to be Callan or are you going to buy Bridget's Sexiest Beaches?

The only thing I might buy is the remastered edition of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. I can't remember the last time I saw it, but I've been on a Peanuts kick lately. Though it's a lot of singing and dancing (it's based on the classic Broadway musical) and I'm not sure if I can handle that.

So this week we have Glee, which is releasing Volume 1 of their first season before the first season is even over. Most shows don't do this, but FOX feels they can capitalize on the popularity of the show and the popularity of the soundtrack. FlashForward is doing the same thing before the rest of their season launches in January, though I don't think that they will have the same success as Glee.

And to answer your question, no, I'm not sure what Emily of New Moon is either. Here's the IMDb page for it. It has nothing to do with Twilight.

I'm really excited about the second season set for Mannix. The first season had Joe Mannix working for a high-tech investigation firm, which was fine, but the second season is when he becomes a private eye and hires Gail Fisher to be his secretary (yes, secretary: this was before women became "executive assistants"). If you like detective shows and have never seen Mannix (I don't think it's on TV much these days), check it out. It also has one of the coolest theme songs in TV history.

Last night's episode of CSI, called "Young Man with a Horn," was not only a nostalgic story of old Las Vegas, it was also a chance to feature some wonderful stars from TV's past.

There was Ralph Waite, John-Boy's father from The Waltons; Robert Guillaume, the double Emmy-winning star of Benson; and even the creator of Laugh-In, George Schlatter. And the center of the whodunit was none other than an original Hitchcock blonde, Tippi Hedren, star of The Birds and Marnie.

It's not often that two people are so connected in these TV obituary roundup posts I do every week or so, but these two people are worth mentioning in the same post.

Alexander Courage, who composed the theme song for the original Star Trek series, died on May 15 at age 88. He also did music for episodes of many other series, including Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Waltons, Lost in Space, Land of the Giants, The Loner, Eight is Enough, Daniel Boone, Riverboat, and many others. He was also an orchestrator on several movies, including L.A. Confidential, The Haunting, The Mummy, First Knight, The Shadow, Rudy, Malice, Hook, Sleeping with the Enemy, The Poseidon Adventure, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, and a ton of others.

But Courage wasn't the only Star Trek figure to pass away that week...

You don't know the name, but you know his work. He was the voice Ernie the Elf in the Keebler commercials and guest starred on...well, just about every single TV show produced since the early 1950s, it seems.

A partial list: The Waltons, Quincy, M.E., Stingray, Flamingo Road, Little House on the Prairie, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Riptide, Falcon Crest, Knot's Landing, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Dallas, Barnaby Jones, Gunsmoke, Columbo, Bonanza, Mannix, Mission: Impossible, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, The Name of the Game, The Wild, Wild West, H.R. He was known for his voice work, and you could hear him in such shows as The Flintstones, Jem, The Smurfs, Spider-Man, and The Transformers. He also kept me up nights as a kid when he did the voice of that damn devil doll in the Trilogy of Terror movie in the 70s.

Edmiston died on February 15 in L.A. of cancer.
