What to Watch Friday, March 6

Bret Michaels'The E! True Hollywood Story: Bret Michaels'
(9PM, E!)
He's constantly defending what's underneath his bandana, he's diabetic and his biggest hit was sparked by a cheating ex ... not exactly rock 'n' roll details, which is a big reason why rocker Bret Michaels is oddly endearing.

The 'Rock of Love' star dishes on himself in this 'THS,' recalling a childhood that was idyllic until he was diagnosed with diabetes. He later dropped out of high school and headed to Los Angeles, where he formed Poison, wrote 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' after being cheated on by an "exotic dancer" and made a, ahem, video with Pam Anderson.

Now, like that other single dad 'Bachelor,' he's looking for love on reality TV. More specifically, on a bus.

Battlestar Galactica'Battlestar Galactica'
(10PM, Sci Fi)
It's the beginning of season 4.5, but it's also the beginning of the end for the show, as tonight's installment kicks off a string of 10 new episodes that will lead to the series finale.

But (Star)buck up, 'BSG' devoted, because the remaining episodes promise to be epic (producers have hinted that several of them may even be super-sized), beginning with tonight's revelation of the final Cylon.

Yep, no waiting around for this big reveal, as the identity of the fifth Cylon happens while Adama and the Colonial crew ponder the condition of Earth and get more than a little frakkin' freaked out over their shocking discovery.

Lipstick Jungle'Lipstick Jungle'
(9PM, NBC)
In the penultimate episode of the show's second -- and potentially final -- season, designer Victory tries to come up with the perfect way to propose to Joe.

But her pals are in less romantic states, as Wendy finds out that hubby Shane is still considering going on tour with pop star Natasha Bedingfield (who guests), which would put a cramp in Wendy's personal and professional lives.

Nico, meanwhile, is still planning parenthood for her future, but her quest may be derailed by her ongoing struggle to get recognition at work and by her growing friendship with the boss -- very handsome boss -- Griffin.

Zac Efron'The E! True Hollywood Story -- Young Hollywood: A to Zac'
(8PM, E!)
Never-before-seen footage of Zac Efron playing Snoopy in a school production of 'You're a Good Man Charlie Brown'? Tales of the Jonas Brothers' playground flirtations? Home footage of Taylor Swift singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' as a toddler?

It's teen-tastic, and all a part of E!'s two-hour special on the under-21 set who rule the tube, the music scene and the big screen.

All the usual suspects -- which, of course, also includes the ubiquitous Miley Cyrus -- are covered, via exclusive footage, interviews and tales from those who knew them before they were famous ... and earning more as children than most of us will make in our lifetimes. Hooray for Young Hollywood.

starter wife'The Starter Wife'
(10PM, USA) 1st season finale
We smell a cliffhanger or two, as the fab first season of the show inspired by Gigi Levangie Grazer's novel and USA's 2007 miniseries wraps with a wedding for Lou and plenty of turmoil for Molly and her friends.

Her ex-lover's wedding, in fact, forces Molly to consider whether or not her own romantic future with Zach is worth considering. Meanwhile, Rodney's relationship with Felix takes a turn, guilt- and grief-stricken Joan makes a confession and newly-separated Liz continues to face the realities of her life without her pro baseball player hubby.

Thankfully, the network has given season two a greenlight, ensuring 'Starter Wife' can finish what it ... you know.

ghost whisperer'Ghost Whisperer'
(8PM, CBS)
Those rumors you've been hearing about a certain someone, a certain main someone with a very close relationship to titular 'Ghost Whisperer' Melinda?

Well, they're true, and they're coming true in tonight's pivotal episode. To elaborate would be unfair to those viewers who hate spoilers, so we won't tell you whether or not someone dies, though we will point out that if someone, someone with a very close relationship to Melinda, does die, it does not necessarily mean he or she will necessarily not be a part of the show any longer.

Perhaps he or she will, instead, return to help Melinda see how things feel on the other side of the ghost whispering process. But really, we're not elaborating any further.

a night for vets'A Night for Vets: An MTV Concert for the BRAVE'
(8PM, MTV)
The topic of U.S. troops in Iraq is a polarizing one, but we can all agree the brave men and women serving there deserve a welcoming return home.

Unfortunately, the soldiers often return to face issues with unemployment, health care and homelessness, and MTV hopes to raise awareness of their plight via performances by 50 Cent, Ludacris, Kanye West, Kid Rock and Taylor Swift.

The network is also co-sponsoring the Bill of Rights for American Veterans (BRAVE), a petition for legislative changes that will alleviate the problems vets often face after serving their country. So we'll forgive MTV for not playing music videos anymore when their primetime hours are devoted to such a noble cause.

Crash'Crash'
(10PM, Starz) series premiere
'Crash' opens with Dennis Hopper berating his penis, and from there gets a little less weird, though more intense.

The drama, based on the surprise Best Picture Oscar winner, doesn't rely on the racial themes that drove the 2004 movie, but, like the flick, does show how a disparate group of Los Angeles residents meet and mingle.

Hopper's aging record producer Ben, who seems to be based on Phil Spector, is the most over-the-top character in the bunch, which also includes corrupt cops, a gang member-turned-paramedic, marrieds warring over the wife's father and a musician who gets more than he bargained for when he becomes Ben's driver.

'Republican National Convention'
(10PM, ABC, CBS, NBC)
Now that both major party presidential contenders and their potential veeps are set ... it's on like Donkey Kong, as Peyton Manning says in that Oreo commercial we love.

But first, John McCain has to make it official tonight, as he accepts the Republican party bid for himself and his Tina Fey-lookalike running mate Sarah Palin.

McCain's speech wraps up the RNC in St. Paul, meaning both Team Obama/Biden and Team McCain/Palin can now focus all their energies on the two-month race to the White House. May the best men -- or co-ed team -- win.
