Tichina Arnold Gushes About Her 'Happily Divorced' Role on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 4th 2011 6:15PM
Tichina Arnold of 'Happily Divorced' on 'The Talk'The title 'Happily Divorced' refers to Fran Drescher's character on the TV Land sitcom, but it would be hard for anyone to sound happier than Tichina Arnold did on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), talking about her role on the show.

Arnold has been on some popular and long-running sitcoms, including 'Martin' and 'Everybody Hates Chris.' But she gushed about her 'Divorced' co-stars and seemed truly thankful to land the role of Judi Mann, Drescher's best friend on the show.

"I was so happy when I booked this gig because Fran, of course, is just, she is television," said Arnold. "And she just knows her stuff and she's amazing to work with. And she knows, she's very smart. Really, really smart. So she and I have bonded."

Alana De La GarzaFans of the mothership 'Law & Order' take note: Alana De La Garza is joining the cast of NBC's struggling 'Law & Order: Los Angeles.' Hooray! And it gets better: She's playing her 'Law & Order' character, ADA Connie Rubirosa.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the L&O veteran completes the casting overhaul that began with the dismissal of three actors and and the move of Alfred Molina's character to detective.

De La Garza joined 'Law & Order' in season 17 and was with the show until it ended in May 2010.

"I hope fans of the 'mothership' will be happy to see the return of Alana's character, Connie Rubirosa, one of the longest-running assistant prosecutors on 'Law & Order,'" Dick Wolf, the show's creator, said. "Alana has a huge following and it will be interesting to follow her character as she comes to terms with Los Angeles justice."

Rock brings the funny with the Everybody Hates Chris cast - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Jan 19th 2007 8:31PM
Everybody Hates Chris
I have to tell you, the CW had some pretty lively sessions today at the press tour. The session for the Pussycat Dolls series devolved into a women's lib argument as I walked into it, and both Supernatural and Hidden Palms had their moments. Most were helped along by the comic stylings of Paul McGuire, the network's head of communications, who would come to the podium usually toting a funny line or two. "Even Jean-Paul Satre was a freak in his day," he quipped after the spirited debate over use of the word in the Pussycat Dolls' hit "Don't Cha."

But not even a funny executive could hold a candle to Chris Rock.

Actress confirms Everybody Hates Chris is heading to The CW

by Adam Finley, posted May 7th 2006 7:08AM
tichina arnoldRight before Everybody Hates Chris hit the airwaves, the show was hyped like crazy. Eventually, the hype settled down, so if the show has slipped off your radar, no one can really blame you. However, if you haven't been tuning in on Thursday nights, you're missing one of the best new shows of the season, a perfect balance of real heart and gut-busting comedy. The show is also incredibly well-cast, especially Chris' mother, Rochelle, played by Tichina Arnold (she was "Pamela" on Martin and was also one of the three singers who popped up throughout Frank Oz's 1986 film version of Little Shop of Horrors). She did an interview with TV Filter recently where she confirmed that, yes, Everybody Hates Chris will be one of the shows to survive the move when UPN and the WB merge into The CW. I expected as much, but it was nice to hear it, nonetheless.
