The Big Lie on ''Til Death' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 20th 2010 11:30PM
The Big Lie on ''Til Death'Well, this is the end of ''Til Death' (Sun., 7PM ET on Fox). It's the last episode ever of the sitcom, so you might even say that this is the "death" of ''Til Death.' But we would never make an obvious joke like that.

The show has chronicled the 20-year marriage between Eddie and Joy Stark (played by Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher). Every marriage has its ups and downs, of course. And perhaps in every marriage, there's a dark secret hidden from the other partner. Or maybe not. But Eddie, at any rate, does have a dark secret -- which involves a lie that he made to his wife. However, his lie is a little odder than most.

[Spoiler alert.]

Gilbert Gottfried on ''Til Death' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 19th 2010 1:20AM
Gilbert Gottfried on ''Til Death'Gilbert Gottfried is perhaps best known as "that comedian with the annoying voice." On the most recent episode of ''Til Death' (Sun., 7PM ET on Fox), Gottfried uses that voice to excellent effect. He barges into Joy's (Joely Fisher's) home, and begins a conversation involving breast size and, well, male member size. Good stuff!

That Was Quick: FOX Pulls 'Sons of Tuscon'

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 5th 2010 6:25PM
Sons of Tucson From the very first commercials for Fox's 'Sons of Tucson,' it was hard to imagine the show lasting. It looked like a vehicle designed for Jack Black that fell in Tyler Labine's lap - three kids hire a bearded, chubby slacker to pose as their dad when their real father goes to prison. Labine even says, in the debut episode, that he is going to "rock it hard."

It was your standard non-standard family unit (undoubtedly with heart) that has been the bread and butter of sitcoms for decades. Precocious kids, a funny guy with a bit of a beer tummy - how could it fail?

The TV Squad Podcast: Tom Papa of 'The Marriage Ref,' 'DWTS,' March Madness, and More!

by Joel Keller, posted Mar 25th 2010 5:11PM
Tom Papa of 'The Marriage Ref'After a few stops and starts, we finally managed to get Tom Papa, host of NBC's 'The Marriage Ref,' to join us on the podcast. He talks with Jason Hughes, Danny Gallagher and me about the new show, who his favorite couple has been so far, managing a panel with Larry David, Ricky Gervais and Madonna, and exactly what he thought of the Leno-Conan debacle that gave his show that Thursday at 10PM ET opening.

Tom joins us about 18 minutes into the podcast and stays with us for about 25 minutes. Before and after, Jason, Danny and I talk about:
  • How March Madness messes with our DVRs and why networks can't send out live DVR updates,
  • The new cast of 'Dancing with the Stars' and the importance of Pam Anderson's breasts this season,
  • Two shows that are finally getting killed off: one good ('Scrubs') one not so good (''Til Death'). We also talk about what shows have been on the "Can't Kill 'Em" list in recent years.
  • Picks of the week, and more.

Run time is 1:13:08.

You can listen to the podcast below, or download from here or by subscribing to our RSS podcast feed. It is also available via iTunes. Feel free to leave us feedback in the comments or drop us a line at tvsquadpodcast [at] gmail [dot] com.

As always, the music at the beginning and end of the podcast is "Life" by Justin Trawick.

'Til Death' Is Really, Really Over

by Brad Trechak, posted Mar 24th 2010 9:50AM
'Til DeathFox has confirmed some news that has been in the cards for a while: ''Til Death' has been cancelled after four seasons. Like so many other shows before it (*cough*cough* 'According To Jim'), it has avoided the axe for much longer than anticipated. ''Til Death' was even given an honor usually given to only science fiction on Fox: the Friday Night Death Slot.

Actually, by the time the show even got to its fourth season, the only consistent part of it was Brad Garrett and Joely Fisher. Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster, the next door newlywed couple that was half of the central premise of the original show, weren't even there anymore.

The best part of the Variety article was Brad Garrett's response to the situation. When they mention the showing having a 0.4 rating, he replied, "Give me a month and I'll take it to a zero." The network responded with dead silence. Those people have no sense of humor.

Poor Brad. At least he has those 7-Up commercials to keep him going.

''Til Death' Canceled

by Andrew Scott, posted Mar 23rd 2010 5:11PM
'Til Death''Til Death' is, well, dead.

According to Variety, Fox has officially pulled the plug on the comedy series after a lifespan of four seasons.

Star Brad Garrett confirmed the news earlier today to Zap2It, saying, "The other night, we got an 0.8 [rating]. Once your mom stops watching, you're an 0.4. The network said, 'What do you suggest?' I said, 'If you give me one more month, I can take you to a zero.' And there was dead silence."

On Sunday, Fox aired two episodes of ''Til Death,' which took in just 2.5 million and 3.3 million viewers, respectively.

Brad Pitt Proposes to Joy on 'Til Death' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 14th 2010 11:58PM
Til Death, Brad PittA porn mustache on Brad Pitt in real life is just ... ugh (though, let's face it, it's better than that Allen Ginsberg beard he's been sporting). But even worse when he's a cartoon character.

That's just what we got on 'Til Death' (Sun., 7PM ET on Fox), when an animated Pitt proposed to an animated Joy. His kids were there, but no sign of Angelina Jolie. Just as well. She probably would have pulled a 'Lara Croft' and kicked Joy's ass. Hmmm ...

Eddie Encounters an Almost Naked Doug on 'Til Death' (VIDEO)

Til Death, Naked DougIf you've had a roommate, chances are good you've had this happen. You run into the person getting a snack, and he or she is practically naked.

Eddie said it best when encountering Doug getting a midnight snack on 'Til Death' (Sun., 7PM ET on Fox). "Wow. So much of you, so close to my food."

And you've gotta hand it to Timm Sharp for baring almost all. That takes you-know-what.
