Tim and Eric Celebrate Chrimbus and Talk Tour, 'SNL' and a Possible Season 6

by Nick Zaino, posted Oct 15th 2010 5:00PM
'Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job! Chrimbus Special'Tim and Eric fans have a lot to be happy about these days. Their "Awesome Tour 2010" is about to kick off in November. The duo returns to Adult Swim Dec. 5 for their holiday 'Chrimbus Special.' And, as they told TV Squad last week, there may yet be a season 6 of 'Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job!'

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are busy rehearsing for the new tour, which includes a set by comedian Neil Hamburger and the duo's band, Pusswhip Banggang. "It all comes together at the last minute," said Heidecker.

After that, they'll be working on their big screen debut, 'The Tim and Eric Billion Dollar Movie,' co-produced by Will Ferrell. But when that's finished, they wouldn't rule out coming back to the 'Awesome Show.' "You never know," Wareheim said. "We'll never say it's over."

Tim and Eric vs. 'SNL' in the Battle of Tiny Hat

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 27th 2010 3:00PM
Did 'SNL' rip off Tim and Eric?Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are well aware of their influence on the comedy world. They had their own little corner of insanity at Adult Swim with 'Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job!' for five seasons, and have been all over the rest of TV with their spots for Old Spice.

In March, the comedians told Maxim they saw a sketch on 'Saturday Night Live' that looked like it could have been one of their own. But this weekend, fans spotted another sketch on the season premiere of 'SNL' that looked like one they already have done. Did 'SNL' steal a skit from Tim and Eric?

No Season Six, But Tim and Eric Will Be Home for Chrimbus

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 15th 2010 8:30PM
Tim and Eric announce tour, Chrimbus special'Tim and Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job' may be done, but Tim and Eric aren't quite done with Adult Swim yet.

In March, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim told Maxim "season cinco" would end the series run and discussed 'Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie,' co-produced by Will Ferrell and set to hit theaters in 2011.

On Monday, in an announcement the pair had been hyping on Twitter for days, they revealed plans in a YouTube video for their one-hour 'Chrimbus Spectacular,' which will feature dyspeptic comic Neil Hamburger and Pusswhip Banggang (Tim and Eric in full rock band mode), and for 29-date tour.

The special premieres December 5 on Adult Swim.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! S3ASON THR33 on DVD

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 26th 2009 5:04PM
Tim and Eric Awesome Shwo Great JobSeason four of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! has been over for months, and "Season Cinco," as season five has been dubbed on the pair's Web site, has not yet started. But fans can bide their time with the Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! S3ASON THR33, which was out earlier this month.

In season three, Tim and Eric took a step up. The shows got funnier and tighter, without losing any of the scattershot, what-the-hell-am-I-looking-at feel. They upped the ante on creepy and uncomfortable with the "Child Showcase" sketch, featuring Patton Oswalt and Rainn Wilson as children singing inappropriate songs while an approving host looks on. It's an immediately unsettling image (though nothing really tops Chippy for that so far), a seamless special effect that puts Oswalt's and Wilson's heads on a kid's body.

New TV on DVD releases this week

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 3rd 2009 7:30PM
Ed Sullivan - Elvis DVDHere are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.

Wow, I didn't even realize that season six of Kate and Allie was being released this week (Canada only). Reminds me that I haven't bought season five yet. I think I was waiting for it to be released in the U.S., but now Amazon doesn't have any copies, so I'll guess I'll get them both this week at the same time.

Not sure what's up with the Elvis Ed Sullivan Show DVD. There was a very similar DVD set released a few years ago, so maybe this is a re-release or a re-master?

  • The Adventures of Black Beauty - Series 2
  • Daffy Duck's Quackbusters
  • The Ed Sullivan Show - Elvis Presley

Tim and Eric and Jimmy Fallon - VIDEO

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 15th 2009 4:35PM
Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great JobI had hoped to post the Tim and Eric interview from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon from last night, but this is all NBC posted of the segment. Fallon introduced them by saying they had been eating chocolate since Sunday and hadn't slept, at which point they burst into the studio and threw candy at the audience and the band. They made a passing attempt at answering Fallon's questions, and gave a bit of their history, but mostly stuck to the premise of being hopped up on candy. No one sticks to a premise like Tim and Eric.

If you're not familiar with Tim and Eric, you probably look at these two guys in pink chocolate-stained tuxedos and wonder what the hell you're watching. Sometimes, even when you do know Tim and Eric, and watch Tim & Eric, Awesome Show, Great Job every Sunday at 12:30 AM on Adult Swim, you are apt to say, what the hell am I watching.

80's sitcom intros that now look like self-parodies - VIDEO

by Eliot Glazer, posted Mar 15th 2009 2:02PM
small wonderIt goes without saying that television from the 80's - as a decade - tends to stand on its own as having provided some of the oddest junk we may ever see: the glorification of cat-fights (see: Dynasty), the existence of Twin Peaks, and an alien as the star of his own sitcom (see: Tony Danza Alf).

Of course, classically cheesy schmaltz like Dancing With The Stars and American Idol continues to thrive, keeping viewers fastened to their couches amid every note sung or dance move executed by someone in a fedora or boa, respectively.
