by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 15th 2011 12:00AM
'19 Kids and Counting' in ScotlandThe Duggars got to experience a little bit of Scottish culture when the latest installment of '19 Kids and Counting' (Sunday, 8PM ET on TLC) -- soon to be known as '20 Kids and Counting' as the Duggars recently announced on 'Today' that Michelle is expecting again -- saw the entire clan fly off to Scotland.

Their clan was so impressive that the organizers of the festival they were at redubbed them the MacDuggan clan. And while everyone embraced the fellowship and fun of the day, Jim Bob was a little reluctant to fully get into the spirit. They got him into a kilt, but the get-up looked rather silly with the ends of his jeans sticking out of the bottom.

Shadia's Traditional Marriage to a Converting Catholic on 'All-American Muslim' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 14th 2011 5:30AM
'All-American Muslim' series premiereFor Americans used to the outlandish Western marriage ceremony, it may have been a little odd seeing Jeff and Shadia sitting in chairs while a pretty simple one was performed on the series premiere of 'All-American Muslim' (Sun., 10PM ET on TLC).

This is because, as a country, Americans still no so very little about Eastern religions and cultures. In that regard, 'All-American Muslim' is a fascinating series, and perhaps an important one in spreading the message that we're all still people under our differing garbs and differing faiths.

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 12th 2011 3:00PM
tlc sister wivesTLC's 'Sister Wives' gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Brown family, a typical American family living a lifestyle that most people would find unusual. Kody Brown, his four wives and their now 17 kids are your typical polygamist family, but what if it was the other way around?

Introducing the 'Brother Husbands.' When the Brown family accepts an invitation from a religious professor to talk to her students in Boston, things get a little uncomfortable when a student suggests an alternative polygamist lifestyle -- one with one wife and multiple husbands. But don't worry, according to first wife Meri, this will never happen.

"The way that the plural marriage is for us, and the way that we believe and the one that we've accepted, is that there is one husband and multiple wives," Meri explains.

The Jaafars & The Amens, 'All-American Muslim'What's the image you have in your head when you hear the term "All-American"? Does it look anything like the Jaafars or the Amens?

If not, TLC's new series 'All-American Muslim' might change your point of view. The show (premieres Sun., Nov. 13, 10PM ET) looks at the lives of five Muslim American families from the Dearborn, Michigan area, home to one of the most active Muslim communities in the country and the largest mosque in North America.

I sat down with members of two of those families -- parents of four Mike and Angie Jaafar, and Suehaila and Shadia Amen, sisters who are only a year apart in age but could not be more different, Suehaila, 32, is single and still lives at home, while her pierced and tattooed sister, Shadia, who has a son, Adam, from a previous marriage, is planning her second wedding -- to an Irish-Catholic guy who's converting to Islam.

Michelle Duggar Defends Her Decision to Have Another Baby

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 9th 2011 8:55AM
Michelle and Jim Bob DuggarYesterday Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar announced on live television that they are expecting their 20th child together. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this has provoked criticism of the couple's lifestyle choices and their decision to proceed with such a potentially high-risk pregnancy given their already large family.

So why can't the couple stop having babies? The Internet rumor mill's been working overtime, and theories being bandied about include: Is Michelle addicted to being pregnant? Do they procreate to get attention? Are they making too much money from their reality show to give it up? Or, are they, as Michelle told Ann Curry yesterday, just staying true to their motto of "There's always room for one more?"

Now Michelle -- who has suffered twice from pre-eclampsia -- defended her decision to have another child, telling 'People' that if the prospect of potentially life-threatening prenatal complications were going to deter her, then "we would have stopped back with our second birth. ... There are many women who have experienced pre-eclampsia and have gone on to have more children."

Ethan Implements a Family Fire Drill on 'Quints by Surprise' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 9th 2011 1:45AM
'Quints by Surprise' season premiereNever mind that five of their six children are only two years old, Ethan was determined to get the family to master a fire drill on the season premiere of 'Quints by Surprise' (Tue., 10PM ET on TLC). He got wife Casey and seven-year old daughter Eliot on board, but for the quintuplets, it was a game they clearly didn't understand.

Still, crawling through the house and out into the yard can be fun, right? Ethan's goal was to have the family able to get it together and get out of the house in 60 seconds. Casey thought it a pretty laughable and lofty goal.

For this fire drill, they cleared out of the house in seven minutes. It's going to take a lot more practice to tighten that up to a minute!

TLC new series d.u.iWhat's more embarrassing than getting pulled over by the police? Getting it caught on camera.

Adding yet another reality show to its guilty pleasure television lineup, TLC has ordered a new drunk-driving reality series, called 'D.U.I.'

The series will go behind the scenes of drunk-driving law enforcement in Oklahoma. So think of it as another variation of 'COPS," but this show plans on following the drunk-driving suspects from the field sobriety tests to being interrogated by law enforcement and, if necessary, to their arrest and sentencing.

Each case will capture the full story, including the harsh realities the drivers must face and their families' reactions.

The Duggars Are Expecting Baby Number 20 (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 8th 2011 9:11AM
DuggarsNot even the threat of pre-eclampsia or premature birth can slow down Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar in their quest to expand their already huge family: They announced this morning on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC) that they are expecting their 20th child together.

Telling Ann Curry that she's three and a half months pregnant, 45 year-old Michelle said "We're due in April and we're just thrilled!" Ever the joker, Jim Bob quipped "We don't know how it happened!" Michelle added, "We are so excited. I was not thinking that God would give us another one, and we are just so grateful." The couple had hinted last night on their blog that they'd be making a "special announcement" this morning, but many assumed it would be about another grandchild.

When Curry asked the question that most of us are thinking -- WHY?! -- Michelle said they live by the motto "There's always room for one more." Plus, as Jim Bob says, one kid just moved out to start his own family so there was space available in Casa Duggar.

Watch the happy couple's announcement after the jump.

It all happened last Thursday, when Gosselin picked up her kids after school. As she waited in the driver's seat of her minivan, her seven-year-old son Collin decided to climb under his mother's minivan, rather than climb inside. In a photo of the incident, he can be seen lying on his belly underneath the body of the car, with his head directly behind its front right wheel.

'Sister Wives'Kody Brown and his 'Sister Wives' (Sun., 9PM ET on TLC) have chosen to live their lives in the public eye. As a result of their polygamous lifestyle they've been heavily criticized and even threatened with prosecution.

This week the Browns talked to their friends Andy and Nicole about some of their concerns about having sister wives. Nicole says that "My fears are not having Andy with me every night, or my kids ... for them not to be around their dad all the time."

The sister wives agreed that it's important for all the family members to want to be a part of the extended family, and Kody Brown concurred that it's hard work. "You have to work it out. You have to get it figured out. And it's not perfect on the first day."
