Pamela Anderson and Kate Gosselin Premiere on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 23rd 2010 2:42AM
Dancing With the Stars, Kate Gosselin, Pamela AndersonTwo TV divas premiered on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC), and each made a splash in her own way.

Pamela Anderson was all about the sex appeal, ripping her partner's shirt open and dancing like she was having a ... you know. She made Tom Bergeron feel like he was twelve years old.

But Kate Gosselin was much more serious, and said she needs to get over her own insecurities and nervousness on the dance floor. Then again, she looked like she wanted to smack Bruno Tonioli when he said, "It looked like Tony was pushing a shopping cart around." He probably didn't mean to play off her housewife role ... or, who knows, maybe he did.

Bergeron said that Burke's previous experience on the show makes her a good fit as co-host. "She'll be able to talk to the couples backstage with the perspective of having been through it herself, which will be interesting," he said.

Gorse, O'Dell Among Rumored Candidates to Replace Samantha Harris

by Laura Prudom, posted Feb 11th 2010 5:00PM
The revolving door of reality stars just keeps on spinning; whether it's 'American Idol' or 'Dancing With the Stars,' the hosts and judges seem to fascinate us almost as much as the contestants. Over the past few weeks, speculation has been running rampant regarding a replacement for effervescent 'DWTS' host Samantha Harris; we've even made a few suggestions ourselves.

But the latest news according to E! Online hints that the decision over a new host may not be far off. Rumors indicate that two potential candidates may be 'E! News' correspondent Ashlan Gorse and former 'Access Hollywood' anchor Nancy O'Dell.

Who Should Replace Samantha Harris on 'Dancing With the Stars'?

by Chris Jordan, posted Jan 29th 2010 2:00PM
It's the last dance for Samantha Harris on 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Harris will not return as the show's co-host when the ABC series returns on March 22. After eight years interviewing the celebs and pro dancers alongside Tom Bergeron, Harris is moving on to concentrate on other gigs.

Producers haven't announced details about replacing Harris, but we've come up with our own list (in alphabetical order) of a few candidates who make sense, and maybe one or two who kind of don't:

Samantha Harris to leave Dancing with the Stars

by Michael Pascua, posted Jan 28th 2010 7:00PM
Samantha Harris on the set o Dancing with the Stars. My one wish has finally come true: Samantha Harris is officially leaving Dancing with the Stars. People has announced that Samantha will not be returning when the tenth season begins in March.

While the producers and Tom Bergeron have voiced how they are going to miss Samantha, I'm happy to finally see her off screen. She has made several fashion faux-pas, has accidentally said contestants scores before the judges revealed their paddles, and has had poor judgment when cutting off interviews. I can't believe that she's been around for eight seasons.

Review: Dancing with the Stars - Performance 6 Results

by Michael Pascua, posted Oct 28th 2009 1:15AM
Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower jitterbug
(S09E13) Tonight on Dancing with the Stars there was some actual content tonight: the dance-off. Unfortunately, that meant that there was no encore performance. Instead we go right into Taylor Swift.

Musical Performance - Taylor Swift - "Jump then Fall" - Anyone notice that the stage Norah Jones had last week was just audience chairs? Taylor Swift is a horrible live singer (squeaking every time she sang the word "jump"), but luckily we had some professionals who reminded me of Ryan & Ashleigh from So You Think You Can Dance. Their lift near the end was the best part.

What You Missed Last Night: Dancing with the Dead

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 7th 2009 12:47PM
As we mentioned earlier, Tom DeLay was knocked out of Dancing with the Stars last night with injuries to his feet. He's not the first person to have to leave the show after getting hurt, and now it has all been turned into a horror movie. Warning: contains scenes of shoes in eyes.

Is Dancing with the Stars always this crazy?

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 6th 2009 2:29PM
Has SNL done a Dancing with the Stars spoof yet? Is it always as crazy as last night's episode? I'm showing the clip below (click here if you want to skip all that dancing) because it not only has Donny Osmond about to make out with judge Bruno but it also has one of the great TV quotes of the year (concerning Utah), someone mentioning Donny should have used more tongue, the phrases "airy fairy" and "turn to the dark side," and random clapping from stars from Modern Family (I know, I'm sure many ABC stars show up for some cross-promotion).

Good thing that Paula Abdul was there to bring an air of normalcy and logic to the whole evening.

What You Missed Last Night: Colbert and the knee slide into a fist munch

by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 24th 2009 10:39AM
I think we can all agree, no matter what your politics, seeing Tom Delay dancing to "Wild Thing" on Dancing with the Stars was rather...surreal. Last night, Stephen Colbert talked about it.

I never want to hear the phrase "knee slide into a fist munch" again.

The spelling bee kids don't need the pressure of prime time

by Joel Keller, posted May 29th 2009 1:07PM
Spelling Bee winner Kavya ShivashankarFlipping around last night, I caught the last half-dozen or so rounds of the National Spelling Bee on ABC. It was all there in primetime glitz and glory: bright lights, flashy ESPN graphics that show the participants' best finish in previous bees, the lovely Erin Andrews prowling the backstage area, and Tom Bergeron making lame quips during the "play by play."

It was quite a slick production. Then I remembered something: They're kids.

I mean, they're under enough pressure as it is, and it's not always from the competition itself (ever see Spellbound, the movie that spurred the bee's popularity? Some of those parents were pretty harsh). Why add to the pressure by having them try to spell these difficult words on live primetime television?

Brought To You By ... Steve Carell, Jason Alexander, and a hobbit who loves cheese - VIDEOS

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 10th 2009 10:02AM
Jason AlexanderThis month we're taking a look at celebrities who did TV commercials.

Whenever you get into any profession, you have to start at the bottom. The TV business is no exception. The stars you see in prime time today probably cut their teeth working in TV commercials. Heck, some of them still do TV commercials even after they become big stars (but it's often overseas...shhhhhhhh).

After the jump, a sampling of TV commercials from years ago that star celebrities who are now household names. If you're old enough to remember these commercials, you'll probably say to yourself, "Oh yeah, I remember this ad, but I didn't realize that he was in it!"

Six reality show hosts, six different realities

Phil Keoghan, host of The Amazing RaceSince the reality television boom isn't going to end anytime soon, this could be a lucrative career path for the up-and-coming toddler who likes to ham it up with a microphone. After all, in this time of economic woes, what could be a better goal than glam, glitz, red carpets, and Emmy awards?

The reality show genre encompasses the gamut from talent contests to living in the jungle to living in a house with insufferable drones and drama queens and beyond. As a result, the hosts for these shows are going to be a varied lot, as well. Who are these people? How did they get where they are? And, more importantly ... what do I think of them? Read on.

Wait a second ... Steve Wozniak is going to be on Dancing with the Stars?

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 9th 2009 12:36PM
WozThis is probably only logical, since Macs are all you see on TV shows when a character owns a computer: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is going to be on Dancing with the Stars.

You would think from the comments at the link above that past seasons have had stars like Tom Cruise and Meryl Streep on the show. They think the entire cast for this new season is disappointing, a bunch of nobodies. Hey, Wozniak pretty much invented the home computer industry! And I would say that Denise Richards, David Alan Grier, Jewel, and Lil' Kim are pretty well known. There are always some unknowns or fringe celebs in the cast too (though not always the ones we want to see).

I don't watch the show, but as a Mac user I kinda have to tune in at least once to see how Woz does. This is the second time that Woz will find himself in the reality-show spotlight (I know, DWTS is more of a competition show). He dated My Life on the D-List star Kathy Griffin not too long ago. I wonder if Steve Jobs will be watching?
