'Baywatch' Turns 22: Where Are They Now?
by Jean Bentley, posted Apr 23rd 2011 11:00AM
Twenty-two years ago today, the act of running in a swimsuit was changed forever. In 1989, NBC aired the pilot episode of 'Baywatch,' a new series chronicling the dangerous adventures of a group of hard-bodied California lifeguards. Next month marks the tenth anniversary since the end of the series, though it lives on in syndication repeats all over the world.
During the show's 12-year syndication run, 'Baywatch' perfected what will ultimately be its legacy: the number one beach-related television innovation of all time -- slow-mo running. Preferably by hot chicks, but sometimes by that prime archetype of manliness himself, David Hasselhoff.
Although 'Baywatch' had some wonderfully soapy plotlines, let's be honest -- the reason we loved the show was because of the aforementioned hot chicks and slow-mo running, not to mention Hasselhoff's chest hair. Okay, kidding on the third. (Although it was magnificent, wasn't it?)
'Baywatch' Babes Reunite for Reality Show

Four former 'Baywatch' babes are hitting the beach again. Traci Bingham, Nicole Eggert, Donna D'Errico and Gena Lee Nolin have signed on to star in the new reality series, 'Back to the Bay,' Variety's Michael Schneider reports.
The new 'docu-comedy' will follow the women as they live together in a beach house and "embark on new phases of their career."
Exec producer Scott Stone calls it "a fun summer romp on the beach. These amazing women have all embraced the nostalgia of the 'Baywatch' phenomenon and are ready to show us all how to have a blast again."
What have they been up to since hanging up their red swimsuits?
Fox Reality Channel announces new original series
by Kristin Sample, posted Jun 24th 2008 2:27PM
Fox Reality channel has a new series called Gimme My Reality Show. This series will feature celebrities competing to have their own reality show. D-Listers already signed on for the competition include Traci Bingham, Santino Rice, and Gretchen Bonaduce. Bingham, who played Jordin Tate on Baywatch, has also appeared on VH1's Surreal Life 2 and Celebrity Boot Camp. Rice appeared on the second season of Project Runway and finished in the semi-finals. Bonaduce was on VH1's Breaking Bonaduce which chronicled the life of her husband and former child-star Danny Bonaduce.
That's it? They need to get some Idol alums in there. I'm thinking Sanjaya, just so the rest of the cast can ridicule him. Also, I would love to see one of the guys from I Love New York. Say, Mr. Boston? Who would you like to see on Gimme My Reality Show?
Gimme My Reality Show will premiere on October 11th at midnight, right after the Fox Reality Really Awards.
Celebrity Big Brother U.K. kicks off

Celebrity Big Brother kicked off in the U.K. last
night with 11 housemates, ten of whom are genuine celebrities (if there can be such a thing) and one of whom is not.U.S. readers will be familiar with basketball star Dennis Rodman and former Baywatch babe Traci Bingham, and possibly the Member of Parliament George Galloway, who took on the U.S. Senate over allegations he accepted payments from Saddam Hussein.
Also included are glamour model Jodie Marsh, Maggot from rap send-up group Goldie Lookin' Chain, lead singer Samuel Preston from The Ordinary Boys, actress Rula Lenska, disgraced television personality Michael Barrymore, Faria Alam (who had an affair with England soccer coach Sven-Goran Eriksson) and the rather bizarre-looking Pete Burns, formerly of the pop act Dead or Alive.
The major twist this year is with the 11th housemate, called Chantelle, who must convince the others she is in a band called Kandyfloss, with a recent hit entitled 'I Want It Right Now'.
