What You Missed Last Night: Colbert and the troops
by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 9th 2009 12:29PM
If you missed last night's Colbert Report, you missed one of the great episodes. Colbert is in Iraq entertaining the troops, and last night he showed how he got there (it involves a poison dart). I especially like the golf club nod to Bob Hope. Full episode below! (And also here.)
TBS honors troops and USO this evening
by Adam Finley, posted Nov 19th 2006 1:02PM
Tonight at 10 pm, comedian Jay Mohr will host an hour-long special on TBS to honor the military men and women overseas, and the USO. The special, The Comedy Festival Presents: A Salute to the Troops and USO, will feature comedic and musical talent including Louis C.K., D.L.Hughley, Kid Rock and Frank Caliendo, among others. Carmen Electra will also make an appearance, though I consider her like sort of like a sprig of parsley on the overall banquet that is this special: a nice aesthetic choice, but ultimately unnecessary. The special, which will take place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, will also pay tribute to the late Bob Hope, whose legendary USO performances spanned over sixty years. The Armed Forces Network will also receive a copy of the show. No word if Anne Margaret will show up or not.The View: It's Elisabeth vs. Joy - again
by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 2nd 2006 8:51AM
There's something seriously wrong with Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
On yesterday's show, the conversation turned to John Kerry's remarks the other day about President Bush, and before you knew it, Elisabeth and Joy were going at it again. Hasselbeck not only said the words "flip-flop" (wow, she must have the talking points in needlepoint on a pillow back at home) she actually said that Kerry was "like Mel Gibson without the booze."
Yeah, well, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is like Dr. Laura, without the brains.
Before it got too much out of hand - if it didn't already - Rosie put an end to it all with a little song.
