Arlene's Baby Relays a Wicked Message on 'True Blood' (VIDEO)

by Mike Moody, posted Jul 18th 2011 8:20AM
true bloodMaybe Arlene's fears about her new bundle of joy were right after all. Perhaps this baby has more of his evil, murderous father in him than Terry would like to admit.

On the latest episode of 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM on HBO), Terry was hit with a scary sight -- the words "Baby not yours" scribbled on the wall in red ink.

This wouldn't be 'True Blood' without a little mystery. So the question remains: Who wrote the message? Was it Ray's ghost, speaking from beyond the grave? Or is Ray inhabiting the baby? Did the baby write it himself? Or is there some new, unknown creepy force at work here?

Eric Loses Control Around Sookie's Fairy Godmother on 'True Blood' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 11th 2011 5:18AM
'True Blood' - 'If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin'?'Can you be mad at a vampire for feeding if he's suffering from amnesia? What if he looks up at you with those puppy dog eyes of his and says, "Sorry"? That was Sookie's dilemma on 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO)

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Even stricken with amnesia, a vampire is a very dangerous thing, and Eric is one of the most dangerous ones in the 'True Blood' universe. Plus, we're pretty sure Sookie's "fairy godmother" was about to take things to a much nastier level with her "this is not a request."

Will Jason Stackhouse Become a Father (and More) on 'True Blood'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 5th 2011 4:08AM
'True Blood' - 'You Smell Like Dinner'Jason Stackhouse has been a pretty consistent personality -- sweet, mixed with a heaping helping of dumb and a dash of naive -- throughout the run of 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO). For every revelation about some supernatural ability or connection to that world for one of our principal characters, Jason has been one of the constants.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

But could all that be set to change? With the were-panther clan looking to "propagate the bloodline," as Crystal put it, they've elected Jason sperm-donor number one! Obviously, intelligence is not a key component of their bloodline stew.

'True Blood' Previews: Sookie Gets Sassy & Hoyt Gets Passionate

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 1st 2011 2:30PM
True BloodYou better save some room for 'True Blood' next to all that beer and BBQ this holiday weekend -- just because you have Mon., July 4 off doesn't mean the HBO drama is taking a breather!

In these new preview clips, Sookie heads to Bill's revamped house (get it!?), which resembles a really nice mansion, and gets sassy with some armed guards. But that's not the only sass Sookie is handing out -- far from it. Eric gets a healthy dose, especially after he tells her about her sunshine-y blood. Creepy?

Plus, Hoyt gets passionate about Jessica in front of a some Christian protesters and Pam.

Man, things sure are always interesting in Bon Temps.

Alfre Woodard Hasn't Worn Underwear Since the '70s (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 28th 2011 6:00PM
Alfre Woodard on 'The Talk'Here's a little something you probably didn't know about Alfre Woodard, the former 'True Blood' and current 'Memphis Beat' actress. She hasn't worn underwear since the early 70s. Tuesday she felt like sharing, and told the ladies of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) that she "lives commando."

"It really did start out sort of as a comfort thing, and then it got to be a hygiene thing," she said. "It keeps you from getting all ... incubating a bunch of stuff up there." Put more simply, "You give your crotch sunlight," she said.

The revelation shocked her mother, she said. But Woodard has been careful. Going commando takes a bit of adjustment. "You just have to learn how to sit," she said, "you don't go flopping around." There's nothing quite like oversharing on daytime TV.

Sookie Returns from Fairy Land to Find Things Have Changed on 'True Blood' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 27th 2011 2:32AM
'True Blood' - 'She's Not There'If you haven't watched the fourth season premiere of 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO), you certainly don't want to be reading this article. After a crazy, and some would say uneven, third season, season four picks events up right where we left them. Sookie is in fairy-land, but can all this beauty be for real, and who's that guy over there? He sure looks familiar.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

We told you to stop reading, so if you're still here it's your own fault you know now that it's Sookie's grandfather, only he doesn't look nearly old enough. In fact, he looks like Gary Cole. With an appearance by the spirit of Stephen Root's dead vamp later in the episode it was almost a supernatural 'Office Space' reunion.

Review: 'True Blood' Is Back, With Yet More Vampires, Witches and Melodrama

by Maureen Ryan, posted Jun 24th 2011 3:00PM
Oh, 'True Blood.' What am I going to do with you?

Just like one of the characters on the show, 'True Blood' (9PM ET Sunday, HBO) goes through a transformation in the first couple of episodes of its fourth season. Creator and head writer Alan Ball appears to have remembered that his characters -- humans, shapeshifters, vampires, faeries and the like -- are living beings with actual emotions and not just objects for him to Bedazzle with ever-thicker encrustations of incidents, events and OMG moments.

It's a refreshing and surprising change of pace. But then in the third episode, the show starts to show signs of falling into ruts it has frequently and heedlessly dived into before.

Kristin Bauer van Straten Goes Missing on 'Access Hollywood Live' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 24th 2011 2:40PM
Kristin Bauer van Straten on 'Access Hollywood Live'On 'True Blood,' Kristin Bauer van Straten plays a ruthless vampire named Pam, not exactly the kind of character you'd expect to go missing while taking her pooch for a nice stroll. That's what happened Friday on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) when Billy Bush and Kit Hoover opened her interview segment to an empty chair, wondering where van Straten had gone.

Bush announced her as a guest, said she was somewhere in the building, but they didn't know where. Van Straten eventually appeared with her dog, to help drive home the show's pet adoption theme, and talked about the contrast between her own personality and Pam's. "It's so fun to channel that other side on television," she said.

Van Straten said Pam's storyline for season four is "wild," and hard to describe. "It's a crazy storyline," she said. "It's quite something to try and talk about it but not give it away." You'll just have to watch 'True Blood' to see if she's right.

'True Blood' Minisodes to Begin May 2

by Brad Trechak, posted Apr 21st 2010 11:30AM
True BloodCan't wait until the June premiere of 'True Blood' season 3? Well, HBO's got you covered.

Starting May 2, HBO will begin airing six weekly 'True Blood' minisodes (3-5 minute episodes), according to True-Blood.net. The minisodes, which will be written by creator Alan Ball, will air following the conclusion of the season 2 encore.

Will we see the identities of whoever kidnapped Bill? Will Sookie make an appearance? At this point it is unknown.

The only familiar character that will make an appearance so far is the teen vampire Jessica Hamby (played by Deborah Ann Woll). She was turned by Bill at the end of the season 1, and then had a teen romance during season 2 that didn't end well.

After that, she decided to embrace her vampire ways and was seen feeding on a truck driver during the last episode. Perhaps during the minisodes we'll be treated to one of her predatory slaughters.

This is exciting. Is it May yet?

'True Blood' Is Getting the Comic Treatment

by Brad Trechak, posted Apr 6th 2010 1:02PM

True BloodThe latest television series to get its own comic book adaptation is HBO's 'True Blood,' according to IGN. The comic will be published by IDW Publishing and will involve input from show creator Alan Ball. The article does not indicate that Charlaine Harris, the creator of 'The Southern Vampire Mysteries' series from which 'True Blood' was created, would be involved.

'True Blood' is not the first television franchise to get a comic book adaptation. Far from it. The 'Buffy' Season 8 comic written by creator Joss Whedon is still one of the biggest sellers on the shelves.

IDW Publishing practically specializes in adapting television franchises with 'G.I.Joe,' 'Transformers,' 'Star Trek,' 'Doctor Who,' and 'Angel.' Some of those are movie adaptations of television shows that got expanded into comics, but you get the idea.

With its fantasy premise and gothic atmosphere, 'True Blood' should work well as a comic book. It's a good way to tell different and possibly bigger stories without worrying about such things as budget limitations.

Carrie Preston Talks 'True Blood' Season 3 (Is Arlene Dead?!) and 'Good Wife'

by Kelly Woo, posted Apr 5th 2010 12:00PM
Carrie Preston'True Blood' star Carrie Preston doesn't have to go far to get scoop on one of her favorite shows, 'Lost.' All she has to do is turn over and ask Michael Emerson, who plays Ben Linus. Yes, these well-respected, fan-favorite actors on two of the most high-profile shows on television are married.

Now that's we call a Hollywood power couple.

But while Preston and Emerson may not be paparazzi targets like Brangelina, anything they say or do concerning their respective shows gets dissected and analyzed by fans on the Internet. Case in point: When it was announced that Preston would be guest starring on CBS' new hit legal drama 'The Good Wife,' fans of 'True Blood' instantly began to speculate whether this meant death for her character, waitress Arlene.

Hold your horses, though, she warned in an interview with AOL TV. "Let me put it this way, we've done half the season and I'm still there," she said. Preston spoke about the furor surrounding her 'Good Wife' guest stint, the upcoming third season of 'True Blood' and what she knows about the 'Lost' finale.

New 'True Blood' Poster: VILF

by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 31st 2010 11:00AM
True BloodHBO sure knows its audience. As part of a 12-part weekly marketing campaign, the cable network has released a teaser poster for 'True Blood' season 3 with four simple letters: VILF.

The new poster simply states "VILF" in big, bold white letters on a red background with a smaller bit of programming information in the bottom right corner. The acronym is a play on the popular slang term MILF, replacing "mother" with "vampire."
