NBC Announces 2011-2012 TV Schedule
by Jean Bentley, posted May 15th 2011 2:15PM
This afternoon, NBC announced its complete programming lineup and schedule for the fall 2011 TV season. Six new series -- three comedies and three dramas -- will debut later this year, with six more shows ready for mid-season.The major changes include 'Chuck' moving from its Monday time slot to Friday nights at 8PM (for a final season of 13 episodes), while Monday nights get all-new two-hour episodes of 'The Sing-Off' (not just a December thing anymore) before the brand-new drama 'The Playboy Club.'
Wednesday gets two new half-hour sitcoms at 8PM, 'Up All Night' with Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph, and 'Free Agents,' with 'Harry's Law' as a buffer before the more serious 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' (which may or may not eventually feature Jennifer Love Hewitt as a detective).
The network has abandoned its three-hour Thursday night comedy block, but most interestingly isn't bringing back '30 Rock' until mid-season. (Possibly to accommodate for star Tina Fey's maternity leave?) New sitcom 'Whitney' debuts after the office, with the new drama 'Prime Suspect' taking the 10PM slot. After the jump, see what else NBC has in store for the new TV season.
The Five: Favorite TV lineups of all-time

1. CBS, Saturday nights, 1970s:
Come on, how can you miss with shows like Bob Newhart, All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore,
and The Carol Burnett Show. I think Carol Burnett was one of the first shows that my mom let me stay
up late to watch. 2. ABC, Friday nights, 1970s: The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. Yeah, that's right, The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family! You got a problem with that? My sister and I would go down to the corner store and stock up on candy, chips, and ice cream, and then race home to watch Marcia get hit in the nose with a football. Good times.
