Sneak Previews: The New NBC Shows

by Jean Bentley, posted May 15th 2011 3:35PM
The Playboy ClubAlong with today's announcement of NBC's fall schedule, the network released trailers for most of its new shows. A few highlights? The Christina Applegate/Will Arnett comedy 'Up All Night,' for one, which looks like a welcome return to TV for the actress and her costar, Will Arnett, whose guest spots on '30 Rock' have proven more successful than his past attempts at full-time series work.

Also intriguing: the '60s-set drama 'The Playboy Club,' the mind-bending mid-season drama 'Awake,' and the mid-season musical 'Smash,' whose preview managed to look intriguing despite being essentially a minute-long clip of Katharine McPhee singing a Christina Aguilera song.

After the jump, find updated extended previews and descriptions of each new series.

VIDEO Introducing The Show Girl

by Maggie Furlong, posted May 8th 2009 5:00PM
The Show GirlGet the real inside TV dish with our new weekly video series.

Did your parents ever tell you that television rots your brain, and will never get you anywhere in life? Well, they were wrong.

Some people -- yours truly included -- actually get paid to fill their DVRs, schedule their lives around 'Dancing With the Stars,' rehash the mysteries of 'Lost' and basically know everything that's happening inside that little glowy box we call a TV. But what good is interviewing celebs and visiting the sets of your favorite shows if you have no one to share it with?

Enter The Show Girl, our new weekly video series where I'll sit down and give you all the inside scoop and highlights of my TV adventures. In this first episode we cover big season finales and guest stars, some 'Star Trek' insight, a little 'Southland' love and a hilarious undergarment discussion with 'The Fashion Show' host Isaac Mizrahi. Watch. Enjoy. Come back next week for more.

Oh, and if you have a burning TV question, send it to me at TheTVShowGirl@aol.com. Who knows -- it might just get answered on the show. -- By Maggie Furlong
