Mytvrss: Find new episodes of your favorite shows via RSS
There are dozens of ways to find out what's on TV tonight. You could check the TV listings in your local paper, or in TV Guide. But honestly, I don't know anybody who actually does that anymore. There are hundreds of web sites with TV listings as well. But mytvrss provides one of the simplest web-based solutions for keeping track of new episodes.
When you visit the mytvrss web page, you're presented with a list of a few dozen popular TV shows. If a show you watch isn't listed, just contact the site and they might add your show to the list. All you have to do is click the check boxes next to the shows you want to follow and mytvrss will create a custom RSS feed for yu. Pop it into your RSS reader, and you'll receive an update every time there's a new episode of one of your shows.
You don't get a ton of information in your RSS reader, just the series and episode titles and an episode number. But there's also a link on each item that you can click to receive episode summaries.

Snapstream to shut down Couchville TV listings site

Snapstream is the company behind the BeyondTV personal video recorder software for Windows. Agrawal says the company will continue to focus on development of BeyondTV and enterprise software. It is possible Couchville could reappear down the road as a web interface for BeyondTV users who want to schedule recordings over the internet. Snapstream currently lets users remotely schedule recordings using a simple TV listing service at Snapstream.net, but Couchville's interface is much cleaner and easier to use.

Zap2it adds online TiVo scheduling feature
Zap2it, everyone's favorite online TV listing site (you know, until they killed the free listing data that had been used by MythTV, GB-PVR, and Media Portal) has announced support for online TiVo scheduling. There's no shortage of ways to schedule your TiVo recordings on the web. You can do it from TV Guide's web site, Yahoo! TV, or even TiVo Central Online. That's right, when you first bring home your TiVo, you're given the option of viewing TV listings online and scheduling your recordings whether you're at work, on vacation, or sitting two feet from your TiVo.
Still, if you happen to prefer using an alternate TV listing site like Zap2it, I suppose it's nice to have a TiVo integration option.
