The 'Off the Map' Cast Previews Hook-Ups, Flirtations & What's Next (VIDEO)
by Maggie Furlong, posted Mar 2nd 2011 4:45PM
I went to Hawaii and all I got was a farmer's tan. Well, that and some face time with the cast of ABC's freshman medical drama 'Off the Map.'

We've talked about underwater amputations and gotten a peek at the goofiness that happens on set; now, midway through its first season, the show's cast is talking about what's next for the jungle's most adventurous healers.
Check out this video to hear scoop on their characters' struggles, clinic flirtations and more from stars Martin Henderson, Caroline Dhavernas, Jason George, Valerie Cruz, Zach Gilford and Rachelle Lefevre.

'Off the Map' Stars Tease Tonight's Underwater Amputation (VIDEO)
by Maggie Furlong, posted Feb 9th 2011 10:00AM
TV shows -- especially medical dramas -- love to tease that they're doing something you've never seen on TV before, but I actually think that's true of this week's 'Off the Map.' And I've seen a lot.'Off the Map' (Wednesdays, 10PM ET on ABC) has already featured a zip-line accident, tuberculosis, a severe electrocution and a large anaconda wrapped around a man, seemingly suffocating him, but actually keeping his insides from coming out ... and they've only aired four episodes!
This week, their patient runs into trouble while scuba diving, and the docs have to perform an impromptu underwater amputation to save her. It's like 'Grey's Anatomy' meets '127 Hours,' with scuba gear.
Curious? I was lucky enough to catch up with the cast on the show's set in Hawaii (thanks ABC!), and they dished about this week's big story.

Outside the Box Interview With 'Off the Map' Stars
by Neil Busch, posted Feb 8th 2011 3:45PM
Shooting in Hawaii isn't all fun and games (mostly) for the cast of 'Off the Map,' as we found out when they sat down for our Outside the Box interview show.Rachelle Lefevre, Martin Henderson, Jason George, Valerie Cruz, Zach Gilford, Mamie Gummer revealed that and Jonathan Castellanos when the script calls for it, they are conscripted to perform their own stunts ranging from swimming in a "disease-infested" river to throwing themselves in front of a moving car ... going 2 miles an hour!
So, reality doesn't much compare to the hardships the characters endure on the show, which features doctors working in the remote jungles of South America. Still, at least one cast member professed to be squeamish about blood, and on a medical drama, blood can't be avoided.
Watch as the cast members talk about stunts and blood, as well as getting used to medical jargon and their off-camera guilty pleasures.
Dresden fans campaign to save their show
by Brett Love, posted Jul 11th 2007 2:05PM
With so many different campaigns going to save shows recently it could almost be a weekly feature here, and here is yet another for you to consider. I bring this one up partly out of a selfish desire to see it succeed, because The Dresden Files has become my second favorite Sci Fi Original, but also because I think it actually has a shot at working. There is a bunch of helpful info over at the group's main site. They have a letter writing campaign where if you email your letter to Dresden fan Belynda she will print it out and mail it for you, email and phone contact info for Sci Fi, links to a petition, and a host of other options for you to help out.
The Dresden Files -- An early look
by Brett Love, posted Jan 1st 2007 9:00AM
When Battlestar returns with new episodes on the 21st it will be bringing along a new partner on the Sci Fi schedule, The Dresden Files. The show is based on the popular series of novels by Jim Butcher. Both follow the adventures of Chicagoan Harry Dresden (Paul Blackthorne, 24). His life is not like yours or mine, because Harry is a wizard. But unlike that other wizard named Harry, in Mr. Dresden's world there are no boundaries separating the world of magic from the world of the everyday. Earning his living as a wizard-for-hire, he's the only one in the phone book, you can imagine that things don't always go so smoothly for Harry. A good many of the people that know of or find out about him dismiss him as a kook straight away, without investigating further. Interestingly, I think the show may have some of those same issues.
