James Frain and Vinnie Jones Talk Slugging It Out for Top Villain on 'The Cape'
by Sharon Knolle, posted Jan 24th 2011 4:20PM
On 'The Cape,' James Frain (the late, lamented Franklin on 'True Blood') plays an evil businessman who's also a masked supervillain named Chess. But if Vinnie Jones, who plays Scales, has anything to say about it, Frain's position as Top Bad Guy isn't secure."Me and Vinnie are basically slugging it out for the top spot right now," Frain told TV Squad at the BAFTA Tea Party. "I found that out by doing the P.R. event where he said he was aiming to be the number one villain. So, from that point, it's on."
Vinnie Jones Joins NBC Superhero Show 'The Cape'
by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 9th 2010 12:23PM
Vinnie Jones has played a variety of villains, from Juggernaut in 'X-Men: The Last Stand,' to Destro in 'The Ballad of G.I. Joe' and a mercenary named "Bullet-Tooth Tony" in 'Snatch.' He even played a baddie with the name of another baddie on 'Chuck': arms dealer Karl Stromberg, who shares a name with the James Bond villain from 'The Spy Who Loved Me.' Jones's impressive repertoire of evil-doers has earned the former English football star a regular gig on the new NBC superhero drama 'The Cape.'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jones will play Scales, a powerful criminal with a medical condition that makes his skin look like green and gold scales. You can catch a glimpse of him, albeit in a shadowy setting, in the trailer currently up on the NBC site.
