New TV DVDs for March 9: 'Hannah Montana,' 'Walker, Texas Ranger' and More
by Scott Harris, posted Mar 9th 2010 1:00PM
With the Oscars airing this week (and by all accounts putting most of America to sleep), it's no surprise that the DVD market is dominated by Oscar nominated films looking to capitalize on free publicity. That in turn my help explain why this week's array of TV DVDs is comprised almost entirely of classic (and not-so-classic) shows form the distant past. After all, the DVD market is a lot like an MMA fight: you have to pick your spots. There is one bright spot for people under the age of 40, though, and that's Miley Cyrus, who has a little bit of Oscar hype herself after somewhat inexplicably appearing on the telecast as a presenter. Whether or not that cameo will help boost sales of 'Hannah Montana: Miley Says Goodbye' is uncertain, but chances seem slim. After all, by the time the Oscars ended, most 'Hannah Montana' fans had been in bed for hours.
New TV on DVD Releases This Week

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow. This week is an 80s extravaganza, as we have the first season of 'Matt Houston,' the first season of 'Scarecrow and Mrs. King,' a 'Wiseguy' collector's edition, and even a 'Tenspeed and Brownshoe' complete series set.
For those who have never heard of the latter, it was a comedic private eye show starring Ben Vereen. I remember the reviews for the show were outrageous, but for some reason, the show was very short-lived (which is why we're getting a complete series set).
I'm very, very tempted to get 'Matt Houston' and 'Scarecrow and Mrs. King,' though I don't know if they will hold up today. I'm guessing that 'Scarecrow' will hold up better than the Lee Horsley show.
- 'Charlie & Lola' - Vol. 10
- 'The Commish' - Season 1
- 'Greek' - Chapter 4
- 'Hannah Montana' - Vol. 6: Miley Says Goodbye

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow. How can there be so many DVDs released in one day and there not be one that I want to buy? I never got into Stargate, I don't want to own Dallas on DVD, ditto Reba, and I refuse to buy Walker Texas Ranger because a.) it's not very good, and b.) it replaced a show that I really loved in the early 90s. I enjoyed Benny Hill, but I don't know if I enjoyed it enough to own it. So it looks like I'm going to save some money this week.
Yeah, right. Like I won't find something to buy that was released a while ago.

Chuck Norris on Chuck Norris "facts"
by Annie Wu, posted Jan 12th 2006 8:34AM
A few weeks ago, when I needed some cheering up, my friend sent me a link to
something called Random Chuck Norris Fact. Definitely boosted my mood. Within
minutes, I was laughing until my sides hurt. Lately, this (and other "fact" generators, including the Vin Diesel version) have been making rounds on the Internet. A few of my favorite
"facts" include "Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried", "Chuck Norris
ordered a Big Mac at Burger King, and got one", and just about anything that has to do with round-house kicking.
With the site spreading like wildfire across the information superhighway, it must eventually make its way to the
Ranger himself, right? Right.TV Squad Hot Topics
