Knock-down, drag-out fights on 'The View' weren't just limited to political rivals Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck this year. No, no. The ladies of 'The View' were also quite comfortable arguing with their guests. Squabbles between Behar and Hasselbeck do figure prominently among our nominees for 'The View's' Best Arguments of 2010. But, there were also memorable altercations involving firebrand Bill O'Reilly and comedian Kathy Griffin. Watch and enjoy, since, after all, nothing's more entertaining than watching these ladies engage in a round of verbal fisticuffs. Which argument will emerge victorious as the most entertaining of the year? You be the judge.Sherri Shepherd is Proud of Her White Co-Workers' Dance Moves at 'The View's' Holiday Party (VIDEO)
by Catherine Lawson, posted Dec 16th 2010 5:30AM
The festive season's in full swing over at 'The View' (weekdays, 11AM ET on ABC), and the ladies chatted about their office holiday party. Where, much to Sherri Shepherd's surprise, she discovered that her white co-workers can dance. "I am really proud of white people," she exclaimed. Sherri explained that while "black people ... we have all kinds of dances ... and we do it unison," white people are usually too shy to join in. But not at 'The View' party: According to Sherry, there were more white dancers than black, and "the white people took it over!"
While Elisabeth Hasselbeck explained that the unusual exuberance was most likely due to liquor, Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that there weren't actually that many black people at the party -- "She says this like there's a whole bunch of us. There were like five of us!"

by Oliver Miller, posted Dec 10th 2010 4:23AM
Having people leave the room while you're talking is generally considered to be a bad thing. But Bill O'Reilly always tries to look on the bright side. Two months ago, back in October, O'Reilly got into an infamous yelling match during a live filming of 'The View,' which culminated in co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar walking away in protest. On 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), David Letterman had this question for O'Reilly: "What the hell happened over there on 'The View'? What was going on?"
Bill said he knew Behar didn't like him, and that Whoopi's opinion of him varied. He added that he was just trying to "sell a book" during his time on the show. And he found a positive aspect to the fiasco, joking that it was the "greatest thing ever." "You know what I was thinking? ... 'I hope they all leave! Then I'll take the whole show. I'll have 45 minutes of ABC airtime.'" Well, that's one way to sell a book.
'The View' Producers Ambush Whoopi and Billy Crystal With Some Old, Gassy Footage (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Dec 7th 2010 3:05PM
Long before Whoopi Goldberg was a co-host on 'The View' (Syndicated on ABC), she was friends with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams. In addition to being the most popular comedians in the country, the trio also hosted regular 'Comic Relief' benefits for the homeless. So when Crystal came on 'The View' today, the show's producers thought it might be a good time to ambush Whoopi and Billy with some old, embarrassing footage. The clip they played showed the three comedians at 'Comic Relief' in 2006. Goldberg is in the middle of making a serious point about two former presidents helping in the relief effort, when she suddenly gets the giggles. She then has an uncontrolled gas attack, which was apparently so loud that it had to be dubbed over so the audience wouldn't hear it. But Crystal and Williams weren't going to let her go that easily. Crystal backed off, flapping his jacket, and Williams yelled, "Fire in the hole!"
When they came back from the clip, Goldberg was in tears laughing. Crystal gave some sage advice to the panel: "Never eat broccoli before a show."

by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 24th 2010 7:45AM
When Whoopi Goldberg appeared on 'The O'Reilly Factor' (weeknights, 8PM ET on FNC), she and Bill O'Reilly readdressed their confrontation when he visited 'The View.' During that October episode, O'Reilly said, "Muslims killed us on 9/11," and Joy Behar and Goldberg walked off the stage in protest of his refusal to refer to the terrorists as Muslim extremists."I just left out the word 'terrorist,'" he conceded. Goldberg said, "In this day and age when kids are getting their butts kicked because they're Muslim--" O'Reilly interrupted her with statistics from a new study that state: "Jews in America are far more likely to be persecuted than Muslims." Goldberg continued defending her viewpoint.
O'Reilly then called her "Ms. Goldberg" and she snapped, "What is this bulls--- about 'Ms. Goldberg'? Stop that, Bill. Just call me Whoopi." And so he did.
Barbara Walters Loses Her Cool at Whoopi Goldberg on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 17th 2010 2:16PM
With the loose format of discussion on 'The View' (Syndicated on ABC) and the strong opinions of the panelists, it's inevitable that from time to time the ladies will end up talking over each other. This dynamic was on full display today when the conversation turned to the increased security being implemented at airports.Whoopi Goldberg offered the idea that the TSA agents need to be trained in a different method for patting down children. "I think you can't pat down a child the same way you would pat down an adult," Goldberg said. "I think there has to be some training in there."
When Joy Behar suggested they use the x-ray machine, Sherri Shepherd said that her young son has a tendency to touch the sides because he thinks the whole thing is fun.
Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg Make Up After 20 Years (VIDEO)
by AOL TV Staff, posted Nov 15th 2010 10:49PM
As the last season of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' (weekdays, syndicated) winds down, Oprah Winfrey is looking to mend all her fences -- either real or imaginary.Apparently, the much talked about feud between Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg was just in the minds of the media. Though Goldberg hadn't been on Winfrey's show in 20 years, it was all because of lack of communication.
On Monday's show, Winfrey recounted that during a recent gathering at Tyler Perry's house, Winfrey and Goldberg met in the kitchen. "Whoopi came up to me and she said, 'Can I just ask you something?,' " Winfrey told the audience. "She said ... 'Did I do something to you?' " "What are you talking about?" Winfrey said she asked her. "All these years, you know, we've been disconnected and I just want to know, did I do something?" Goldberg responded at the party. And Winfrey said, "All these years I thought you were mad at me."

Comedienne Tina Fey received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor during tonight's broadcast of the ceremony (Sun., 9PM ET on PBS). The award is given each year to recognize the one of nation's greatest comics. Tina is the youngest person to receive the award, and only the third woman to do so. The previous female winners were Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg.During her acceptance speech, Ms. Fey said she hoped "women are achieving at a rate these days that we can stop counting what number they are at things."
"Yes," she continued, "I was the first writer head writer at 'Saturday Night Live.'" Fey then added that she was only the "second woman" to be pregnant on the show. " ... And now tonight I am the third female recipient of this prize. I would love to be the fourth woman to do something, but I just don't see myself married to Lorne [Michaels,]" she said, zinging her former 'SNL' boss.

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 3rd 2010 3:55AM
Kathy Griffin is known for speaking her mind. And she's never gotten along with Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the conservative co-host of 'The View.' On her new stand-up special (Tue., 10PM ET on Bravo), the comedian discussed her longtime feud with Elisabeth. She also kept the fight going -- by dishing out a few choice insults.Griffin called Hasselbeck a "moron," "idiot" and "crazy teabagger," plus a few things we can't print here. Their bitter feud dates back to this summer -- and a famously awkward TV appearance. For a long time, Kathy mocked Elisabeth in her comedy act. So when Kathy appeared on 'The View,' the host was peeved, calling Griffin's jokes "not true" and "unfunny."
But when Kathy asked what Hasselbeck was mad about in particular, the host drew a blank -- on live television.

The ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) discuss the pros and cons of bathing daily, and Whoopi Goldberg tosses out an acronym to indicate which parts a woman should wash at a minimum. Unfortunately, her shorthand completely baffles Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who requires an explanation from Sherri Shepherd.TV Squad Hot Topics
