Joy Behar's Armpit Causes a Commotion on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Mar 26th 2010 2:23PM
Joy's Armpit Causes a Commotion on 'The View'Co-host Joy Behar was telling a long, complicated story on 'The View' (weekdays, 11AM ET on ABC) when suddenly Sherri Shepherd noticed that Behar had a large hole in the armpit of her shirt. Shepherd tried to hold her arm down, but Behar didn't notice, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck became startled that Shepherd was apparently assaulting Behar. "Keep your arm down, babe," was the advice from Shepherd to Behar. Then Behar danced to show off the armpit hole. This armpit reveal follows an episode last year where Elisabeth Hasselbeck talked on air about showing her nipple in a photo.

On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Whoopi Goldberg and Eden Sher act out one of Goldberg's favorite scenes from the ABC comedy 'The Middle.'

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 22nd 2010 2:30PM
Now that President Obama's health care reform bill has been passed by the House of Representatives, we'd expect nothing less than a spirited debate from the ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), and that's exactly what we got today.

Whoopi Goldberg strongly criticized Tea Party protesters of the health bill, who reportedly hurled racial epithets and spit at African-American congressmen, and who used anti-gay slurs to describe Barney Frank, an openly gay Representative from Massachusetts.

The hosts of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) were discussing grudges and how to deal with them when Whoopi Goldberg chimed in about a grudge she has against an unnamed woman.

"I had an experience recently with someone that I have a grudge against ... she just rubs me the wrong way," Goldberg said. When Sherri Shepherd asked her if she should talk to the woman about it, Goldberg said "I don't care ... She makes my skin crawl." How's Goldberg going to handle it? She's just going to "avoid her ass."

You don't want to get on Goldberg's wrong side, that's for sure.

'The View' Reimagined With Hand Puppets (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 18th 2010 3:00PM
Ever wonder what 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) would be like if the hosts were replaced with, say, hand puppets? Turns out, it wouldn't be all that different.

In this clip, all five ladies of 'The View' appear as puppets who engage in a loud argument and talk over each other. The Elisabeth Hasselbeck puppet is shrill, the Whoopi Goldberg puppet is opinionated, and the Joy Behar puppet puts the others to sleep.

On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Whoopi Goldberg put her foot squarely in her mouth during a discussion on verbal and physical abuse, arguing that "a good punch in the lip" is sometimes warranted. However, Goldberg then hastily retracted her comment after having a chance to mull it over.

"Let me clear [this] up, because apparently some people misunderstood what I was saying. I'm not saying hit your child. I was trying to say people should not be hitting or verbally abusing anybody," she said.

by Donald Deane, posted Feb 25th 2010 1:30PM
'E! News' host Giuliana Rancic appeared on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) and discussed her recent struggle to conceive a child. Rancic said an infertility specialist advised her to gain weight, but she had difficulty doing so because of insecurities over her body image and pressure in her industry to stay thin.

Whoopi Goldberg, though, was having none of it, and gave Rancic a reality check on motherhood. "You know what? You want to have a baby, you need to prepare your body for that other person who's going to be there," she said.

Whoopi Goldberg Makes Wendy Williams Cry (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 16th 2010 12:40AM
The Wendy Williams Show, Whoopi GoldbergWhoopi Goldberg stopped by 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, 10AM ET on FOX), and made Wendy Williams cry in the process. We're not exactly sure why Williams was crying; perhaps to redeem herself for all the nasty things she's said about Goldberg.

Still, Whoopi is a class act, and said, "That's alright, baby." And she appeared on the show, even though her daughter was totally against it.

And does anyone else think of Wendy O. Williams, lead singer for The Plasmatics whenever 'The Wendy Williams Show' is mentioned? No? Ok, then.

Whoopi Goldberg: 'Alec Baldwin's Phone Call Was Misunderstood' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 15th 2010 11:35PM
'The View' ladies discuss Alec BaldwinAlec Baldwin may be a fine actor (some say), but let's face it; he's got some issues. There was that scandal a few years ago when he called his daughter Ireland a "pig," and just a few days ago, he was rushed to a hospital. Rumor has it that he and 14-year-old Ireland had been arguing, and he said he was going to "take some pills and end this."

Well, you have to wonder about all this. Baldwin seems to be on top of the world professionally. He's still riding high on '30 Rock,' has a nice movie career going, and he's co-hosting the 2010 Oscars with Steve Martin.

Then again, you never know what goes on in a person's private life. He could be a total hot mess. The ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, 11AM ET on ABC) had a few things to say about it. Whoopi Goldberg believes the phone call was misunderstood.

It pays to be nice to uninvited, anonymous guests when they crash a party at your house, because you can never tell when they might end up a successful actor like Benicio Del Toro. Del Toro appeared on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) today and told a story where he crashed a party at Whoopi Goldberg's house in the late 80s before he broke big.

"I came to her house uninvited and she was so ... graceful," Del Toro said. "I came in. I ate. I sat there. I didn't say a word ... There were a lot of other people there. I was like the little guy in the room. I just kept quiet, but she was very nice."
