'2011 BET Awards': Fan Flubs Viewers Choice Announcement, List of Winners (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 27th 2011 6:03AM
Chris Brown was the big winner of the '2011 BET Awards' (Sun., 8PM ET on BET), nabbing four awards. But he almost didn't get one of them!Okay, he would have gotten it anyway, but things got a little crazy when a fan contest winner attempted to announce the winner of the Coca-Cola Viewer's Choice. Tiffany Green initially announced Chris Brown as the winner, but then corrected herself to say it was Rihanna.
Then, to make matters worse, it was announced Drake had won, and he even came and accepted the award. But Green had been right the first time. If only she'd stopped talking, or the mic had gone out.
Jimmy Fallon (as Neil Young), Bruce Springsteen Sing 'Whip My Hair' (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Nov 17th 2010 6:00AM
Does Jimmy Fallon have a particular affinity for Will Smith and family? First he sings the 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' theme song as Neil Young. Now he's combined his perfect impression with Willow Smith's 'Whip My Hair' tune. Whatever his reasoning, we like what we see (and hear). On 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), Fallon played acoustic guitar and intoned in Young's trademark whine, "Don't let haters keep me off my grind / Keep my head up, I know I'll be fine / Keep on fighting until I get there / When I'm down and I feel like giving up, I think again..."
Willow Smith and Ellen Discuss the Deeper Meaning of 'Whip My Hair' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Nov 2nd 2010 4:15PM
Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" is a catchy tune, but also potentially dangerous for kids' vertebrae. Smith performed the song for the first time live for an audience on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated), demonstrating her technique and a little bit of attitude. She admitted she was nervous, but, the ten-year-old actress said, she has been singing all her life. Ellen asks Smith about the deeper meaning of the song. Apparently it signifies that, "I'm me, I'm doing what I want to do," said Smith. Smith said she had at some point been doing what she wanted to do perhaps a bit too strenuously, and hurt her neck. Ever prepared, Ellen gave Smith a jeweled neck brace with photos of Ellen on it to help protect her,

Jada Pinkett Smith: Playing at Ozzfest Was 'Rough' (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Jun 29th 2010 5:30AM
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's daughter Willow "loves music" and will "have an album coming out," Jada said on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS). But will she follow in her dad's musical footsteps, or her mom's?George Lopez revealed a photo of Jada rockin out during Ozzfest. In 2005, her "melodic metal" band Wicked Wisdom was a second-stage act on the tour, with mixed results.
"At first it was a little rough," she shared. "I was getting death threats and all kinds of things. But we went out there and after the first week, we got our feet on the ground. We finished in Florida, and we made ... somewhat of an impression."
That's not a huge endorsement. Something tells us little Willow may steer clear of that genre.
