What happens when you combine Star Trek and Mad Men?

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 31st 2009 4:06PM
Mad Men/Star Trek
Some of these "let's combine one show with another show" ideas never quite come together because the cast of one show doesn't necessarily fit into the cast of the other show, but this pic that puts the cast of Mad Men into Star Trek: TNG uniforms is pretty funny and clever. Pete Campbell makes a great Wesley Crusher (at least I think he's supposed to be Wesley - if not, he should be).

Star Trek: TNG complete set coming in October

ST:TNG dvds

It's becoming clear that if you plan on buying every season of a TV show, at least the more popular ones, you might want to wait a couple of years (if you can wait, that is). They're coming out with more and more "complete sets" and if you buy the sets individually you're probably paying more (and missing out on some extras, though that's not always the case).

Here's another one. CBS/Paramount will release a complete set for Star Trek: The Next Generation on October 2, to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.

Which Star Trek character are you?

by Anna Johns, posted Feb 12th 2006 12:32PM
star trek quizI don't know what is with all the Star Trek-related posts from me today. Maybe it's on my radar because I watched First Contact the other night (that Borg chick rocks!). Anyway, there's an internet quiz to determine which Star Trek character you are. Sadly, I am a "redshirt", or an expendable crewmate who gets killed as soon as the away team beams down to the planet's surface. Bummer.

Take the quiz, then tell me: Who are you?

How do Klingons make vegetarian lasagna?

by Anna Johns, posted Feb 12th 2006 8:24AM
worf klingon recipeWell, first you need to invite over a vegetarian and get him talking. Then, when he's comfortable, catch him by surprise and "beat him to death with a sack of phone books".

Thus begins the Klingon recipe for vegetarian lasagna, according to humorist Mike Richardson-Bryan over at McSweeneys. Richardson-Bryan also wrote Klingon recipes for Homestyle Gagh, Heart of Targ, Thing on a Stick (a.k.a. Bachelor's Delight) and Tribble Nuggets, which involve a lot of shooting and then stomping Tribbles into nuggets. Funny stuff. Also check out the writer's Klingon Personal Ads and Klingon Fairy Tales for McSweeneys.
