Tonight we get a closer look at Andy, as he throws a garden party in a bid to impress Robert. The guests include his parents, played by Stephen Collins and Dee Wallace, and by a stroke of incredible inspiration, his brother is played by Josh Groban. The Astronomical Kid Says 'X Factor' Fight With Simon Cowell Was Scripted (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Oct 6th 2011 5:35PM
Brian Bradley, aka The Astronomical Kid, the 14-year-old 'X-Factor' contestant who got into a confrontation with Simon Cowell after performing his song 'Stop Looking at My Mom!,' dropped by 'Good Day NY' (weekdays, 9 AM ET on Fox) to squash the beef.

Actually, Bradley said the whole thing was a scripted set-up. As Simon was judging him after his performance, The Astronomical Kid cut him off, saying "Yo, what is your problem, man? Are you serious?" He told Cowell he was lucky they weren't in the streets "because if we was in the streets, this is what I'd say to you. Soundman, drop that," and then transitioned into his next song.

'X Factor' Contestant Stacy Francis Battles on After the Death of Her Father

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 6th 2011 7:15AM
Stacy FrancisSingle mother Stacy Francis blew 'The X Factor' judges away with her audition last month.

Proving that it's never too late to make your dreams come true the 42-year old Francis seemed on her way to the top. Her stunning performance of Carole King's 'Natural Woman' won her a standing ovation and saw her safely through to the "bootcamp" round of the competition.

However, just two weeks ago, the Brooklyn native received the devastating news that her father had died. TMZ reports that Francis strongly considered quitting the show to be with her family but ultimately decided to stay because that's what her father would have wanted.

'The X Factor': Top 5 Memorable Performances from Chicago and Seattle

by Laura Prudom, posted Sep 29th 2011 5:00AM
The X Factor judgesThe first of this week's 'X Factor' episodes was a little lacking in actual talent, but it's reassuring to know that we only have to suffer through one more audition round before we can get to the good stuff.

(I wonder if all of the true stars are being left on the cutting room floor so that they can shine during Hollywood Week bootcamp instead?)

Though not every contestant can be like Chris Rene, there were still a few memorable performances this Wednesday night, so we waded through the filler to dig up the Top Five most memorable acts -- good and bad -- for our video highlights.

'X Factor' Contestant Drops Pants During Performance, Disgusts Judges (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 22nd 2011 12:10PM
'The X Factor' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) premiere was filled with inspirational stories and impressive vocal performances, but also featured one moment that was considerably less uplifting. A male performer unexpectedly dropped his pants in the middle of a song, disgusting Paula Abdul and everyone else in attendance.

As the flasher, who claimed to be a classically trained musician, sang "Let's get nude, don't be a prude," he pulled down his pants. The judges and live audience shrieked in horror, and Paula Abdul walked to a bathroom backstage, feeling sick to her stomach. Simon Cowell could only sit there stone-faced, looking disgusted, as the man sang, "I'm a stud," repeatedly.

After the performance, L.A. Reid chastised the flasher. "That was offensive, disgusting, distasteful, upsetting ... get him out of the building, please."

'The X Factor' First Look: Simon Cowell & Paula Abdul Together Again (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 13th 2011 10:20AM
It's hard to forget all the drama that's surrounded 'The X Factor' for the past ... many months. Now, the time is finally (almost) here to see what all the hype is about -- 'X Factor' hits the air in September.

However, you don't have to wait that long to see Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid in action -- just watch the video below.

X Factor Judges

The first half is effectively a car commercial. You know it's a dream because Simon isn't wearing a trademark deep v-neck T-shirt. The real juicy bits happen just a little after a minute and half when 'X Factor' host Steve Jones says, "This is 'The X Factor!'" There's bright costumes, terrible singers, good voices, Simon and Paula canoodling, Paula throwing her Pepsi and L.A. Reid saying he wants to slit his wrists. Plus, Nicole Scherzinger steps on Paula's toes and gets teary while calling a contestant an inspiration.

Watch it after the jump.

Simon and Paula Dance Around 'X Factor' Judge Rumors in Dueling AHL Appearances (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Feb 9th 2011 3:45PM
Simon Cowell, Paul Abdul, 'X Factor,' 'Access Hollywood Live'Simon Cowell's new singing talent show 'The X Factor' doesn't hit TV until the fall, but there's already buzz brewing about whether former 'Idol' judge Paula Abdul might rejoin him on the judge's panel. Cowell and Abdul were both on 'Access Hollywood Live' (Weekdays, Syndicated on NBC) today, and while they didn't appear on camera together, it was obvious they were both dancing around the recent rumors.

Cowell reported that no 'X Factor' judges have been officially signed yet. When asked about Abdul, he said, "She's in the mix, but, you know, a lot of people are in there."

As Simon was being interviewed, the camera cut to Abdul backstage as she placed electrical tape over his mouth on a TV screen. And when it was Paula's turn in the interview chair, the discussion quickly turned back to her British frenemy.
