Chris Harrison's Emotional Rides Hosting 'The Bachelor' and 'You Deserve It'

chris harrison who do you think you are It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a decade of roses, tears and broken engagements, but Chris Harrison, who's been the face of 'The Bachelor' franchise since it began in 2002, promises that the upcoming Season 16 will be the best yet -- with a little help from a grandmother named Sheryl, of course.

"We might have outdone ourselves this season," Harrison told AOL TV. "I will say this about the grandmother that gets out of the car: It made for a fun, sensational ad, and obviously, it worked because people are talking. But people should know that we would never take up a spot on the show as a cocktail joke. It definitely was funny, but it has much more meaning than you see in the ad. There's something very sweet and romantic about it."

After a decade of tearful drama, Harrison switched it up in November and debuted a new feel-good game show, 'You Deserve It,' where each week, a contestant tries to win money for someone in their life who they would like to reward. Okay, so maybe there will still be some tears.

'You Deserve It'ABC is back in the game show business, but their latest entry has a philanthropic twist. In 'You Deserve It' (Mon., 9PM ET on ABC), contestants participate in the quiz show with all of their winnings going toward someone else. Someone in their life who they think deserves it.

It creates a whole different kind of anticipation and tension, especially because they're not letting the recipient of the winnings know how things are going until it's all over. But for the player, they get that sense of doing something wonderful for someone they care about.

Starting with a $10,000 round and going up to a $250,000 round, contestants purchase a series of clues to help them solve the puzzles and win money for their chosen recipient. The beneficiary, who is in another location under constant hidden-camera surveillance throughout the show, gets the surprise of a lifetime when family, friends, Brooke Burns and a camera crew burst in with life-changing news.
