Jessica Breaks Down When Called Out for Donating One Pair of Shoes to Charity on 'You're Cut Off' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Feb 15th 2011 1:10AM
Jessica, 'You're Cut Off'We think Marcy may be onto something regarding Jessica's inability to part with more than one pair of shoes for charity on 'You're Cut Off' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1). Each other items that was brought into question seemed to have a story attached to it.

"I can't give away certain things that my mother's bought me," she said at one point. At another, it was that "my grandmother, who has cancer, bought me that jacket, and I'm not giving it up."

Now, it could be just that Jessica isn't ready to give up her spoiled ways, but it may be a case of a rich person with hoarding tendencies. Maybe after her stint on this VH1 hit, she could shift over to A&E and see if the experts on 'Hoarders' can help her part with more.

Marcy Can't Corral a Goat on 'You're Cut Off' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Feb 8th 2011 8:45AM
Peaches Runs Away on 'You're Cut Off'An episode titled "The Allure of Manure" will surely include livestock. Indeed, the ladies of 'You're Cut Off' (Mon., 8PM ET on VH1) are sent to an eco-friendly, self-sufficient house that has its own organic micro-farm.

Marcy is tasked with wrangling the goat Peaches. She (or "somebody") neglects to close the gate behind her, and Peaches bolts for the open road. Marcy goes running after the animal, squealing "Oh, my God! Oh, my God!" to which Peaches seems to respond in kind.

Aimee quips nastily, "If I was that goat and I saw somebody that big running after me, I'd probably run from Marcy, too."

A Fight Breaks Out Over Cigarettes and the Grocery List on 'You're Cut Off' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Feb 1st 2011 1:03AM
'You're Cut Off'All hell broke loose in the house over a grocery list on 'You're Cut Off' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1). We'd like to be able to attribute Hana's temper tantrum over cigarettes to a nicotine withdrawal rage, but it's more likely just a spoiled princess syndrome.

Aimee won VIP, which gave her control of the shopping. She allowed everyone to voice what they wanted, but wasn't having any of it when Hana said she wanted a pack of smokes.

"I'm not spending grocery money on cigarettes," she said definitively.

But Hana's not used to hearing "no," and certainly wasn't going to go without her cigarettes. So she tried to write it on the list herself, as if that would make them arrive automatically.

Jenn Breaks Down and Tries to Escape the Cameras and the Show on 'You're Cut Off' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 25th 2011 3:34AM
'You're Cut Off'The idea of 'You're Cut Off' (Mon., 9PM on VH1) is to take these spoiled rotten rich kids and take them to rock bottom so they can learn to appreciate what they have. Mission ... accomplished?

Jenn threw a temper tantrum that would have made a two-year old proud, lashing out at the producers and cameramen of the show. Television cameras aren't cheap, but Jenn tried smacking them around and was kicking and screaming for her cigarettes and some space.

She even tried to break out of the show's campus at one point. It was a perfect example of a teenager completely out of control in their own body. She was pure emotion and so reckless she could have injured herself or the people around her and wouldn't have even known it had happened.

Tensions Rise on the First Night as the Brats of 'You're Cut Off' Argue Over Nothing (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 11th 2011 1:05AM
'You're Cut Off'A new batch of spoiled brats moved into the house for the second season of 'You're Cut Off' (Mon. 9PM on VH1), and immediately they started proving why they were there. Pride and arrogance seem to be the downfall of so man of them.

These ingredients blended together into a pointless stand-off in the kitchen. It's as if the girls are animals needing to spray the house to mark their territory and determine who is going to be the "alpha brat."

Aimee decided to stake a claim on the corner of the breakfast bar. While many of us would just let her be childish and walk around her, Jenn felt the need to challenge her claim, and the two had a minor stand-off.

"Move," Jenn demanded.

'You're Cut Off!' Has a Graduation Ceremony Which Goes ... Badly

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 27th 2010 1:55AM
'You're Cut Off!' Has a Graduation Ceremony Which Goes ... BadlyWell, it's graduation time on 'You're Cut Off!' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1). Finally, we get to learn what will happen to the worst person in the history of reality TV -- contestant Gia Rukavina. During the grad ceremony, Gia has to discuss certain things with her husband; such as the fact that she's the most awful mother of all time. And then, her husband wants some changes.

So, what does Gia's husband want? Pretty basic stuff. Like expecting his wife to sometimes be able to change the sheets on their bed. Or expecting Gia to occasionally be able to hang out with her child -- without totally abusing their daughter.

In the face of such demands, Gia totally panics and freaks out. At first, she says "No." But then, under the pressure of reality television, Gia relents, kisses her husband, and promises to be a completely changed woman from the person she was 30 seconds ago when she freaked out. And then, Gia "graduates." Good job, VH1! Way to put a terrible mother back in contact with her child, based on a half-hearted attempt at redemption. After all, it's not like Gia has already confessed to throwing her baby in a room and locking the door. Oh, wait. She did do that.

A Very Bad Mother on 'You're Cut Off!' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 20th 2010 1:35AM
A Very Bad Mother on 'You're Cut Off!'We've seen our share of trouble with 'You're Cut Off!" contestant Gia Rukavina. There was the screaming while at her fake job incident. There was the hitting another girl with pillows incident. And then there was the getting in a fight with Omarosa incident. But on the latest episode of the show (Mon., 11PM ET on VH1), Gia easily tops all of her previous bad behavior -- with a discussion of her incredibly bad parenting skills.

How bad of a mother is Gia? Well, let us count the ways. While talking to her fellow cast members, Gia reveals that ...

1) When her baby girl was born, she thought this: "What the f#ck? You came into my life and destroyed it."

2) That she had her baby's nails "done" -- i.e., painted -- when her daughter was five weeks old.

3) She is such a bad parent that her husband refuses to let her be alone with the baby, or to change her daughter's diapers.

The 'You're Cut Off!' Ladies Go Camping, and (Wait for It) Disaster Results (VIDEO)

The 'You're Cut Off!' Laides Go Camping, and (Wait for It) Disaster ResultsWelcome back to the best/worst reality show on summer TV! "Worst" because it's mind-numbingly awful. "Best" because it's totally fascinating in a train-wreck kind of way. What show are we speaking of? Why, 'You're Cut Off!' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1). Until 'Jersey Shore' makes its inevitable return, this show really provides us with our weekly required dose of drunk people yelling at each other.

On the latest episode, all of our favorite spoiled rich girls are sent out on a camping trip. Naturally, they spend the whole time complaining, because they're outside and there are bugs out there.

Ladies, we sympathize with your tough lives. Camping, gosh! It must be so horrible: being in the great outdoors and being on vacation and having nothing to do all day but relax.

Luckily, we soon move on to the next portion of the show: drinking and fighting! Inevitably, huge amounts of wine and champagne are brought on the trip, and soon enough, a tipsy Erica is talking about making out with other girls. Then, the women just start drunkenly shouting at one another. All in a day's work for the stars of 'You're Cut Off!'

A 'You're Cut Off!' Contestant Is Kicked Off the Show (VIDEO)

A 'You're Cut Off!' Contestant Is Kicked Off the ShowConsidering some of the past behavior of the girls on 'You're Cut Off!', it must be pretty hard to get booted from the show. But on the latest episode of the series (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1), one of the women manages to accomplish that difficult feat.

[Spoiler alert.]

Chrissy is thrown off the show by host Laura Baron. The reason for this is that Chrissy has a terrible attitude problem and refuses to change her life. Since everyone on the show has a terrible attitude problem, it's impressive that Chrissy manages to stand out from the pack. Still, Chrissy seals her fate by being unrepentant during her interview with Laura -- and it doesn't help that she also curses and calls Laura's ideas "bullsh#t."

Even though Chrissy puts on a tough face during her interview, once she is actually kicked off, she predictably freaks out. Chrissy starts crying and throws her microphone at the wall, but it's too late -- she's already gone.

The 'You're Cut Off!' Girls Would Rather Fight Than Work (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 29th 2010 12:30AM
The 'You're Cut Off!' Girls Would Rather Fight Than Work'You're Cut Off!' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1) is a reality show that attempts to give incredibly spoiled rich girls a second chance at life -- by teaching them responsibility. Of course, given the nature of the women picked for the series, this is never going to happen. And anyway, that isn't the actual purpose of the show. No, the actual purpose is to let us watch very spoiled rich girls getting in horrible fights. And in this, it succeeds.

On the latest episode, the girls are forced to work in a shoe factory, in an effort to teach them the value of actual work. Countdown to this leading to disaster in three, two, one ...

Yes! And right on cue, disaster strikes. Über-crazy Gia can't handle the fact that fellow contestant Erica is named manager during their one-day fake "job." So she starts shouting at Erica to, quote, "Shut up." Then Gia says this to Erica: "You're watching everybody; you're vulture-ing everyone." Well, yes. Watching employees is sort of what a manager does.

Perez Hilton Sees More Than He Bargained for on 'You're Cut Off' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted Jun 23rd 2010 10:08PM
Sometimes you have to be careful what you don't wish for.

On Wednesday's edition of 'You're Cut Off' (Wed., 9PM ET on VH1), Team 1 came up with what they thought was a pretty good idea for a bargain basement ensemble that could double as two, or even three, outfits. Erica came walking out wearing the $93 ensemble to show it to celebrity judges Adrianna Costa, a fashion journalist, and "Queen" of all media, blogger Perez Hilton.

To change from the daytime outfit into a nighttime outfit, Erica just needed to take off her pants, which she proceeded to do by sitting down on the stage. As she started to drop her pants, Hilton said, "Careful, don't give us a crotch flash."

An Angry Girl Fight on 'You're Cut Off!' (VIDEO)

An Angry Girl Fight on 'You're Cut Off!'The new show 'You're Cut Off!' (Wed., 9PM ET on VH1) chronicles the lives of nine extremely spoiled young women. These women have all been pampered by their families, and aren't used to dealing with real life. To give you an example of how spoiled they are, one of the girl's dads spends half a million dollars a year on her -- in order to provide her with such things as her own maid and personal astrologer.

Now, the girls are all forced to live together in a single small house. Naturally, this leads to some tension. The women seem to unite in dislike of one of the contestants -- whose name is Gia. The very unpleasant Gia refuses to breast-feed her own daughter or change her diapers, and she forces her husband to attend to her every need.

After meeting Gia, the other contestants decide that she is a terrible mother, and turn against her. Eventually, Gia gets in a fight with housemate Jaqueline. There's some yelling, some hitting with pillows, and frequent use of the word "bitch." It's all just about as trashy as you would expect.

Is VH1 Actually Getting Classy?

by Joel Keller, posted Apr 19th 2010 8:05PM
Tough Love CouplesIt takes a big network to admit that it's been bad. And when VH1 decided to blow up most of its schedule and announce 44 new shows earlier today, that's exactly what they did.

Pretty much all the shows that have been part of the VH1 lineup over the last few years -- shows like 'Flavor of Love,' 'Rock of Love,' 'Tool Academy' and other high art -- are going to fade away in favor of more documentary-style shows. And, shocker of all shocks, music is coming back, with more music-video-centric shows and the revival of 'Behind The Music.'

Even the network's president, Tom Calderone, seems to think that its high time for the network to ditch its recent tawdry past. "(O)ur audience was getting a little fatigued by all those manufactured reality shows," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "They want more authenticity in their reality, which isn't to say that it can't be comedic and light."

But is fatigue the real reason why VH1 is classing it up? And are they really classing things up at all? A closer examination makes both answers a little less obvious.
