The 5 Funniest TV Clips of the Week (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Sep 25th 2010 3:00PM
With the recent influx of fall programming, it's easy to lose track of the amusing moments that TV has to offer. Well, never fear. Our DVRs are working overtime, and we've collected the five funniest moments from the week gone by here. Witness a former President's awkward near-confession, a star's drunken encounter with paparazzi, and an actor's followup to a famously unhinged late-night appearance a year-and-a-half ago.Snooki "Kisses" Zach Galifianakis on 'Jimmy Kimmel' (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Sep 24th 2010 5:30AM
When Zach Galifianakis appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC) with his face and neck covered in red lipstick kisses, he revealed he'd met "Snorki" [sic] backstage and they, er, got acquainted. But seriously, he doesn't watch 'Jersey Shore' ("I'm a grown man"), and his attempt to wipe off the lip prints only gave him very rosy cheeks "like a Raggedy Ann doll," noted Jimmy Kimmel.
Snooki came out next and said, "You still have my lipstick on your ear." He deadpanned, "I know -- and somewhere else."
The host said the two would make a cute couple. And apparently all Zach needs to woo Snooki is some "GTL" -- gym, tan, laundry.
Zach Galifianakis Shaves His Beard on 'SNL' ... or Not (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 8th 2010 7:08AM
Proving that he'll do anything for his craft, Zach Galifianakis shaved his beard for the 'Pageant Talk' skit on 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC).But then ... were our eyes playing tricks on us, or did he show up at the end with the beard again? What the heck is going on here, Zach?! You're scaring us!

Zach Galifianakis Shows up on 'Law & Order' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 8th 2010 5:22AM
'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC) has been a bit lackluster lately, but Zach Galifianakis managed to bring some funny back into the show as host this week. In fact, he did that just by showing up. In the digital short, Galifianakis showed up on various TV shows like 'Law & Order,' '30 Rock,' and 'The Dr. Oz Show.' He's probably been on a lot of others and we just haven't noticed him.

Zach Galifianakis Joins the Kissing Family on 'SNL' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 8th 2010 3:20AM
You haven't seen awkward and uncomfortable until you've seen the kissing family on 'Saturday Night Live.' It doesn't matter what the relationship is -- mom, son, brother, uncle, you name it. This family swaps spit like they're in a no-holds-barred celebrity sex tape. This week's show saw host Zach Galifianakis, a cute little puppy, and even a dead guy getting a piece of the action. They say dogs have less germs in their mouths than humans. Still, we hope there was some heavy-duty Listerine close by.

'Saturday Night Live' - 'Zach Galifianakis/Vampire Weekend' Recap
by Annie Wu, posted Mar 7th 2010 1:45PM

(S35E16) This was definitely one of the weirder installments of 'Saturday Night Live' in a while, but for fans of Zach Galifianakis, it was a real treat. It's very rare that the entire tone of the evening so perfectly fits the host. A lot of hosts, be they athletes or singers or professional actors, use 'SNL' as a platform for showcasing other talents that they have (or think they have) and that can often lead to strange, near unwatchable territory.
Galifianakis knows where's his strong points are and confidently played those up all through the episode. He is not at his best with cue card-heavy parts, but rather when he forces the audience to bask in his glorious, beardy, unsettling presence. So we got a lot of that. A lot. Response to this episode will probably be highly divided (well, more so than other weeks) but, speaking as a long-time fan of Galifianakis, it worked.
Zach Galifianakis on 'Saturday Night Live': Clip Highlights (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 7th 2010 11:19AM
Zach Galifianakis is super hot right now, and he supplied some comedy relief as host of 'Saturday Night Live' this week. He's ridiculously funny, just by showing up. In fact, some of his funniest bits on the show involved hanging out in the background of various TV shows like 'Law & Order,' '30 Rock,' and 'The Dr. Oz Show.' The kissing family also made an appearance (at a funeral, no less), and one of our favorite talk shows, 'What Up With That?,' was back with actor Paul Rudd, as well as the always ignored Lindsey Buckingham.

Zach Galifianakis: 'George Clooney Says I'm Not Beautiful' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 5th 2010 6:34AM
Awww ... you are so beautiful, Zach Galifianakis, and don't you believe anything that grumpy old George Clooney tells you. You're both beautiful in your own way. There, all better? And Jimmy Fallon is right. You've had a great year, and 'The Hangover' was by far the funniest thing to appear on the big screen in 2009.
As for that bit you and Fallon did on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (weeknights, 12:35AM ET on NBC)? We're already attempting to erase that from the hard drive of our brains. You big, beautiful teddy bear.

Zach Galifianakis, Jennifer Lopez to Host 'Saturday Night Live'
by Andrew Scott, posted Feb 2nd 2010 2:38PM
'Saturday Night Live' appears to be on the right track.Following last week's hilarious episode, hosted by Sergio -- er, 'Mad Men''s Jon Hamm, the show has recruited funnyman Zach Galifianakis to host on March 6.
The news first broke on Galifianakis' Twitter a just a few hours ago. No word yet on the musical guest.
The gig will kick off a busy year for the 'Hangover' star, who has a number of films slated for release, including 'It's Kind of a Funny Story' and 'Due Date,' for which he will re-team with director Todd Phillips.
The Twelve Days of Festivus: Four webby series
by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 20th 2009 11:22AM
On the fourth day of Festivus, TV gave to me... four webby series. There's probably more original content being created for the internet than there even is for television. A lot of that is your neighbor sitting in his basement in front of his webcam seeing how many croutons he can shove in his mouth in thirty seconds, but there are places to find great original content, many times on par with what you'll see on television.
Syfy's Sanctuary is a show that began as a web series and has since become a successful TV series. But many web series live and thrive on the web, and belong only there.
A lot of our favorite celebrities have turned to this unrestricted format to create gems, like Will Ferrell's modern classic "The Landlord" from a few years back, or even last year's sensational Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog that brought Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Simon Helberg and Felicia Day into a mad scientist musical world created by Joss Whedon. Even the networks have gotten in on the action, creating original content for their own websites.
Zach Galifianakis interviews Conan and Andy (between two ferns)
by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 17th 2009 2:03PM
Conan O'Brien is a better interviewee than interviewer, as this "Between Two Ferns" interview with Zach Galifianakis shows. He and Andy Richter sat down to chat with Galifianakis at FunnyorDie.com and they touch on everything from The Tonight Show to whether or not Conan touches himself while watching himself. It seems to be all scripted but it's funny (not die). There's a surprise guest star too.
My Morning Jacket to Appear on 'American Dad'
by Michael D. Ayers, posted Nov 11th 2009 4:00PM
Fox's 'American Dad' is set to rock -- literally.Kentucky's finest southern-rock band, My Morning Jacket, will appear on the Nov. 22 episode of the Seth MacFarlane comedy. The episode will be titled 'My Morning Straightjacket,' and will feature not only the band in cartoon form (a first!), but six MMJ songs and guest voiceovers from the likes of Zach Galifianakis, who will play a MMJ super-fan.
"Honestly, it was an organic evolution," said 'American Dad' co-creator Mike Barker in a statement. " I was at Bonnaroo in the summer of 2008, watching MMJ play their guts out in the rain at 4 a.m. when the idea for the episode struck me. I pitched the idea to the guys the next day and thankfully they were on board."
Review: Bored to Death - Take a Dive (season finale)
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Nov 8th 2009 10:01PM

(S01E08) "You think we learned anything tonight?" - Jonathan
I'll tell you what I learned -- Bored to Death has a lot of potential. All season long, I've gone from loving to hating to loving this show, and with the season finale now come and gone, there's a real opportunity here for Bored to Death to become HBO's next break-out hit when it returns. All the pieces are in place and it probably could have blown up this season had there not been so many episodes where the show tried to find its footing. Is it a detective show? Or is it about three friends in the publishing world trying to make their mark? Or is it both?
Review: Bored to Death - The Case of the Stolen Sperm
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Nov 2nd 2009 11:28AM

(S01E07) "I don't mean to be rude, but I was transporting chilled semen." - Ray
What a great way to set up the season finale! At this point, I'm not sure Bored to Death has turned out to be anything like what HBO originally green-lit, but, despite its many ups and downs, it sure has been fun to watch.
Not only did last night's episode feature the return of two plots, that, when originally introduced, seemed like throw-away gags (Ray's sperm donations; George's rivalry with Richard Antrem), but it also featured one helluva line-up of guest stars. It bodes well for season two and even though we still have one more episode left, I'm feeling a lot better about the direction Bored to Death is taking when compared to Hung.
Review: Bored to Death - The Case of the Beautiful Blackmailer
by Jonathan Toomey, posted Oct 26th 2009 1:02AM

(S01E06) "Excuse me -- can I get a cheeseburger, no cheese, to go?" - Jonathan
Despite its overall mediocrity thus far, those of us out there who have been sticking with Bored to Death in the hopes that it would get less, well... boring, were finally rewarded. Not only was "The Case of the Beautiful Blackmailer" the best episode of the season to date (I know I've said that before, but clearly I spoke too soon), but it definitively justifies the show getting a season two renewal. This episode proved that the ensemble can actually work well together, and it also made one other thing very clear -- individually, Schwartzman, Danson, and Galifianakis are funny guys. But, together? Comic gold.
