'Zombieland' TV Show Coming to Fox?
by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 18th 2011 1:25PM
'The Walking Dead' and its record ratings have proven one thing: Viewers love zombies. So when will the other networks hop on the zombie apocalypse bandwagon? Now!According to Vulture, Fox and Sony Pictures Television are in talks to develop a 'Zombieland' TV series for the 2012-2013 season.
If the project, a half-hour version of the hit 2009 film starring Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone, proceeds, it'll likely be without the film actors.

Oh dear. There's a situation on 'Big Love' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO). We knew it would come to this eventually – a Mexican standoff in which Bill is willing to trade his own life for his family's.You know, Bill, this might not have happened if you hadn't kicked your son out of the house in the first place. But you never listen to us. Just go ahead with your bad self, Bill. Be the hero. "Take me! Here I am!"
And whoa! We totally didn't see that coming! Your mom hacks Hollis' arm off like a scene out of 'Zombieland.' Awesome!
Watch the video after the jump.

The world is about to end just the way you would expect -- televised on FX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, FX has snagged the television rights to the budding blockbuster '2012', which follows the story of a group of average civilians trying to escape a world-ending disaster foretold by the ancient Mayan calendar. Directed by apocalypse auteur Roland Emmerich ('The Day After Tomorrow', 'Independence Day'), '2012' opened to an impressive $225 million worldwide over the weekend.
Right now on Cinematical

The folks at our sister site Cinematical are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between: - I've recently become obsessed with Video On Demand, both through Netflix and through my cable company, so I'm excited that its future is being discussed at Fantastic Fest. I want more available now, please!
- "Why TV is (sometimes) better than the movies:" Whaaaa? I mean, I totally agree, but this isn't something I expected to see on Cinematical.
- OMG I want to see Zombieland so badly. It's like someone snuck into my brain and said, "Hey Kona, I want to make a movie exactly for you." I'm planning on seeing it this weekend, and I can only hope that it won't let me down. You can read Cinematical's Zombieland review here.
- Everything I've heard about Mo'Nique's performance in Precious is that she is AMAZING. So the idea that she should be denied an Oscar nomination because she is reportedly skipping press events for the film is asinine. If she deserves it, she deserves it-- whether or not she wants to play the game.
- I understand why Michael Moore is inviting jobless and homeless folks to a screening of his new film, Capitalism: A Love Story, but do they really need to sit in a theater for two hours and relive how the government and Wall Street screwed them?
